Roberts Finally A Cub!!!!
This was just reported that the Cubs finally landed Brian Roberts for Murton, Ceda, Marshall and Veal. I don't know about all you but I am SO thankful that we can finally put this to rest!
Perhaps Hendry didn't like what he saw today and decided he needed to land a game-changing player to put a spark in a pretty anemic offense. Obviously after today's game, it was clear that there was no hope for this line-up as it was constructed and a move needed to be made A.S.A.P. to salvage the season.

what's the point of posting something like this and lying, those articles have nothing to do with Brian Roberts.....I hope that Al bans you from the website for lying and posting garbage
He thinks he's being funny because it's April st
but all he's being is an asshole. A real big fuking asshole.
Knock it off...
Do we gotta be so serious? A joke! A lame one, but sheesh...

Soriano a lo profuuundo-NO-NO-NO-NO! (Spanish for "Soriano hits a home run!)
I got burned a couple of years ago when.......
Some joker posted an April fools joke that had the Cubs trading Murton, Cedeno, and others to the Brewers for Carlos Lee. I posted it on a couple of sites, and was calling friends and telling them. Their response was, "do you know what day it is?" I felt like a real dumbass.
That is nearly the exact
thing I did, word for word.

Ah, APRIL FOOLS
I heard we just picked up Johan off waivers, and Prince Fielder said he's gonna steal 60 bases this year.

Watch your language and the name-calling.
You know better. Thanks.

Over the line. WAY over the line.
Ladies and gentlemen, your 2008 Chicago Cubs starting outfield: Soriano-Pie-Fukudome. Let it be.
I almost fell for this, too.
Then I remembered what day this is.
A couple of years ago, for those of you who remember, I switched site colors with Viva El Birdos on April 1. That was one of the best ones I've ever done.

I do remember this Al, and it WAS entertaining.
Tried to allude to it with my comment at the top.

Unfortunately, no.
And with the move to the new format, it's not possible to replicate that.
Maybe I'll have something up my sleeve for later today.
Or not.

Not worthy of a Fanpost
and not an April Fool's joke
The Orioles signed infielder Alex Cintron to a minor league deal and assigned him to Norfolk. .
Cintron, a switch-hitter, signed a minor league deal with the Cubs in spring training, but they released him Wednesday. He eventually could become the Orioles' starting shortstop if they're not satisfied with Luis Hernandez and Brandon Fahey.

It's here, it's here, it's finally here!
huh.
I still think it was a mistake to release Cintron. At least on the Os, it's unlikely to come back to haunt us. Till Ronny "Whups... did I do that" Cendeno overruns second to score the last out in the WS.

If Cintron is so good...
... why isn't he on the Orioles? They don't really have a starting SS.

sadly, we think we do
Brandon Fahey (the backup) is a joke, and Luis Hernandez (the starter) is a worse joke, but Dave Trembley seems like he's loyal to Luis. For the life of me, I have no idea why.

Man I cannot understand
why, if Angelos gave MacPhail the green light to trade Roberts, he didn't pick up 2 great pitching prospects and a friggin SS in Cedeno. Either Angelos didn't green light him, or macPhail is stupider than i thought!
Calm down.
Didn't anyone see that and immediately think
"what a lame April Fool's joke"? Sorry, Chris, I enjoy April Fools jokes and pranks, but this one was waaay too obvious.

Hey!
Some people got fooled, not everyone can be as keen as you!
"Prince Fielder Dies Of Inside-The-Park Homerun" - The Onion
I might have been fooled
Except someone posted a diary of the same thing a couple of weeks back, I'm pretty sure.
A trade involving Marquis (but not Roberts coming the other way) would have totally fooled me.

I was thinking about another trade option
but with so much talk this off-season about Roberts, I figured it would be fitting.

I'm a sucker
he had me for about 20 seconds...which is longer than I've ever been had on April Fools...maybe I'm not awake yet.
Good one though...relax everyone!
Soriano should hit 5th. Period.

I knew someone was going to do this.
A few years ago when Walter E. Smithe had their big "Change the Name, Change the Luck" April Fools ad campaign, I posted a link to the "press release" and so many of my friends responded in such revulsion and anger. I was like, "Come ON people, they'll never get away with changing the name! DUHHH!" Hahaha! haha! ... haha... ha... *sigh*

agreed.
For Dome's sake, if anyone should be able to laugh at themselves it's Cubs fans.

Thank you Sue
I'm glad there are some people who can take a joke. Besides the first couple posts who didn't realize it was an April Fool's joke, I never imagined that this post would receive such a backlash!

You got me...
I was still P.O.'d about yesterday's game and this brought a smile to my face. Then I remembered what day it was... thanks a lot.

Its Cool
Like I said to Sue, I don't think the first couple people who posted realized the date and nature of the post. I probably would have responded the same way about a post as B.S. as this one on any other day (or even today if I didn't realize)
