Can we talk about it?
Does this mean we can discuss the 100 year thing whenever Al's "tied up?"

to quote Blues Traveler
..it won't mean a thing in a hundred years. Once the curse is broken I'll feel bad for all the talking heads who will need to develop new material!

today has been extremely long and boring
I think this is the worst day of the baseball season. The first game is played and your finally pumped up for the season then it slows down immediately the next day because your team isn't playing
Finally!

The cartoons?
Irony, people....irony. Think of your newspaper's editorial cartoonist.

Perhaps the
Cubs AP beat writer is writing "Today is day 2 of the 100th season since the Cubs have won the World Series."
I wouldn't be surprised.

they're funny
From the muffled player name cursing to the fair weather fan walking out after an impassioned speech about loyalty and leaving poor Al out in the rain, it's funny. But I guess if you have to explain it, it ain't funny (to you). To each his own.
Win.

OT - search function limitations?
Anyone have a good handle on the Search function in SB 2.0? At first glance, the interface looks way simpler than the old one (a good thing IMO), but I've done some testing and it looks like it only searches "stories", not fanposts or comments (a bad thing IMO). In other words, only the entries that Al makes on the front page are searchable. No disrespect to Al, but there are times when I want to find something in an old fanpost, and can't stomach all the scrolling I'd have to do.
Can anyone confirm either my ignorance on how to properly use Search or my fears that its powers are very limited?

As of now...
... you are correct. It is VERY limited. Trei and the team are aware of this and are working to improve functionality. This is high on their priority list and we hope to have it soon.
It DOES search fanposts, but you have to look on the sidebar for them. Trust me, I have already found it's hard to find stuff here. I anxiously await improvements just as you do.

Thanks for confirming my concerns
Glad to hear Trei and the the team are on the job and I look forward to a resolution. In the meantime, the reason I started searching was I wanted to see how badly I'm doing in the BCB NCAA pool so I was trying to find either the original fanpost or the update that had the link in it. Anyone have it handy?
Rest easy, Al - I'm quite sure you don't have to worry about last place with me having Georgetown winning it all. Plus I think I had Texas and another #2 seed in the final four. I better stick to baseball...

Thanks for thinking of me
I did get a hold of one ticket for the missus, so that turned out fine. As for me, with the way the wind was hauling out to left, I was more than happy to stay out on Waveland. Though as it turns out, I should have went over to Sheffield - Fielder and Pie both hit long fouls that made it to the street.

Waidaminit.
Where did you take that picture? I didn't put the headgear on until I was inside the park.

This is in the park.
It looks like you're outside but you aren't. I was taking random shots all over and zoomed in on that Soriano billboard or the firestation or something. You were standing there and I took the shot. I was top row one section down from you guys.

LOL
I get it now. You're right, I was standing up most of the time before the game started.
