Hmmmm

I think Rich Hill may not be the worst lefty in the rotation.

well

looks like we have two troubled lefties now..

Finally!

by Chanman25 on Apr 12, 2008 7:37 PM CDT   0 recs

Don't worry, guys.

Ronny Cedeno is out of the infield. The team will pull together now.

by cwyers on Apr 12, 2008 7:37 PM CDT   0 recs

But Riot isn't out of the infield.

Hmmm...

Please explain Lou's double-switch theory. Riot made the last out, but he doesn't come out. I guess he's too valuable. And if you're replacing a 2B with a LHP on the mound, at least you could put in Dome -- someone who, you know, actually can hit LHP.

You're the Cubs' GM for the rest of the evening. What trade would you make for a SS? (Be reasonable -- no Rollins for Fontenot trades.)

by DeRoMyHero on Apr 12, 2008 7:43 PM CDT   0 recs

I think at this point poision is the best option.

Nobody trades shortstops in April. We're stuck with what we have.

by cwyers on Apr 12, 2008 7:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

You think Cal would be up for a comeback?

I mean, we want an Oriole SS, why be so picky!

contract year, we could get him for a couple prospects

by Chanman25 on Apr 12, 2008 7:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

This isn't Young's contract year

He signed an extension last spring, something like 5/$80M.

Blanton & Crosby from the A's?

Billy Beane would rape us

in a trade. Seriously, we need to talk to the Pirates and O's GMs because we know they're idiots.

by grifdog on Apr 12, 2008 7:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Don't want Blanton.

His Home/Road splits are horrendous.

Crosby? I'm interested, at this point.

by cwyers on Apr 12, 2008 7:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

And what do...

...the Cubs have, that would entice them to trade those guys to the Cubs?

So far this offseason, Billy Beane has mostly been interested...

...in White Sox prospects, and I don't know if we have enough of those to make a deal with.

by cwyers on Apr 12, 2008 7:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I am saying

that Lillys velocity is down and he is getting lit up because of it. Howard didn't put it on the ground earlier.

why Ramy hasn't gotten a day off? He looks like he needs it more than anyone?

Lou probably thinks he needs playing time...

...to get himself tracked in as a hitter. I guess.

by cwyers on Apr 12, 2008 7:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

He hasn't been shy about playing Fontenot or Cedeno...

...either of whom could either fill in at second or spell Ramy at third. (I'm not convinced that Fontenot can play third, but Lou has talked about it.)

by cwyers on Apr 12, 2008 7:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

He doesn't have to play 3B

He can play 2B with DeRo at 3B.

He's been lit up these first 3 games.

by CubbiesFaninNJ on Apr 12, 2008 7:55 PM CDT   0 recs

This would be taking a bit of a chance,

but I'd consider trading Hart or Wuertz (not both) for Brent Lillibridge + someone. The Braves have serious bullpen problems and Lillibridge is blocked by Escobar.
