Inside Edge Scouting Services
Not sure if I'm that last to know this, but it seems ChicagoSports.com (The Trib's sports section) has added a really nice and in depth scouting feature to their site.
See the home page and look for:
It provides very detailed scouting information about each pitcher's tendancies, what pitches they throw, what counts they throw them in and how they pitch left and right handed batter differently.
Nice job Trib.

That's really neat
I didn’t know about it. Thanks for posting.

That it is.
Someone needs to let Gerald Perry know about this site.

Its about time!
Ive been looking for an in depth scouting service that you don’t have to pay for, well done (even if the trib is owned by the Anti-Christ himself)

Wow, that's some pretty in-depth info.
And I’m kinda surprised that the Trib of all sources is providing it. Thanks for passing this along!

Great find!
I think that links to each teams’ SP and roster would be nice additions to Al’s Game Day posts.

Keep in mind this information is 10 days old
Scouting reports for games 3/31/06 – 4/5/08
Interesting stuff!
Also, if what is printed is accurate, and it actually goes back to March 2006, Pie has NEVER hit a curve ball in 777 pitches! He likes change ups. Felix Pie
Fukudome has not hit a curve ball either (in 71 pitches through 4/5). Hasn’t swung at one? Hasn’t put one in fair play? Again, this is through April 5 games. Kosuke Fukudome

Ah, I knew it was too good to be true.
Interesting stuff, nonetheless, I suppose.

Curveballs are harder to throw for strikes...
...and if Fukudome is simply letting the curve go by him as a ball, then throwing nothing but curves would probably lead to an astronomical walk rate.
That said, this data isn’t very detailed, and has a very small sample size. Sadly, my other sources of this kind of info don’t have anything available on Fukudome yet.

I was thinking the same thing
About Soriano when I saw that he likes to put them low and away, Ramirez has been chasing those also but the good news is if he slips and lets one that low go over the heart of the plate, Soriano will put it on waveland everytime he likes those low fastballs

It's interesting to note who does NOT have a "chase zone"
Lee, Fukudome, and Soto.
Everyone else has a least one “green” square. Several have many. Cedeno appears to have the most “chase zone” squares.

Awesome!
There isn’t really any danger of Soriano hitting a ground ball is there? 25% ground balls, 52% fly balls, 24% strike outs
