Batter's Eye Lounge
Here is a response for everyone who is interested in renting the Batter's Eye Lounge at Wrigley for a private party. I spoke to my boss last night at work and he said the way it works is you can call (773) 404-2827, there is a 75 person minimum (the place only holds 100) and it is $245 for premium games a person and $225 a person for non-premium but this includes all of your food and beverages and you get to choose from a few different menu's. On the Cubs website it says something about $150 a person but my boss told me they consider just about every game a premium game. I'm thinking we need a bleedcubbieblue.com private party at the batter's eye lounge!

Too be honest
I’d love to go to an event there and check it out, provided it was paid for by someone else, but if I was actually going to spend $245 I would rather buy a really good seat close to the field from a broker.

In summary
If you find a sponsor for this BCB night at the Batter’s Eye, then I’m there!

Sure, me too.
The BCB Slush Fund, however, is empty. Someone WILL have to sponsor this!

There's got to be someone on this site...
Who doesn’t qualify for TWO child tax credits like me who could throw down the coin?
Then again, check this out… . The Dodgers actually rolled out the red carpet for the Dodger bloggers of the world. I wonder if the Cubs will give us the same love.
If you play Defender I could be your hyper-space.

Wow, couldn't have set this up better for ryanbrixenivy,
who works in Wrigley Field, after all. I’m sure that Dodger Blogger Night was designed to entertain the actual operators of Dodger blogs, though, and not just any old commenters.

High Price
This high price probably explains why i’ve never seen anyone in the Batters Eye Lounge. I’d have to imagine that it isn’t used too often. Especially with the rooftops available as well for smaller sized groups and a lower cost.

I know it's pricey
Plus you literally cannot fit more than 100 people in there, in addition to that you really can’t hear the crowd in there, other than the game thats piped in on the speakers, and thats what I really enjoy about the game….I’m definetly feeling either a BCB rooftop game or a bleacher game

Having been in there...
... when they gave bleacher season ticket holders a tour before the 2006 season, I can say that the view from there is very cool. But I don’t think I’d want to watch an entire game from there.

Agree on the coolness of the view
I got a tour of the Batters Lounge when we were scoping out our wedding reception options. Glass is tinted and you do get a definite sense of being enclosed. Not sure what the vibes are like on a game day, but I’m still thinking I’d rather be out in the bleachers (or on the streets).
Here’s a picture from the lounge looking straight in towards home plate.
With the tinted glass, the shrubbery, and the general sense of being enclosed, it kinda felt like you were in one of those habitat viewing areas at the zoo. I half expected to see a polar bear go swimming by…
Check out this on-line album for a few more pictures from the lounge

...agreed...
would rather spend that much money on MANY other games, or a rooftop, although I guess it is a cool idea for certain corporate outings, etc…

Hey, if we got 1,000 BCB-ers in a group buy....
....one of us could throw out the first ball.
Now that would be cool!

I have a few friends that work for the Cubs, I will see what I can do...
Once again proving, it’s not WHAT you know, but WHO you know. It’s still a long shot, though.
