Damn it.

This is all Soriano’s fault.

Still not sure what Blanco was doing...

Why do I have this feeling that it will come back to haunt us?

by Tangled Up In Blue on Apr 17, 2008 2:53 PM CDT   0 recs

because we're cubs fans

we always have that feeling. i get that feeling sometimes even after a d. lee home run.

Having a hard time

Figuring out one single reason why he bunted.

by okiecubbie on Apr 17, 2008 2:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Same here.

I can’t think of one, even remotley logic reason why he would be bunting with the pitcher on deck…

by Tangled Up In Blue on Apr 17, 2008 2:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

glad to see the coaches

are making sure that will never happen again

I'm kind of a big deal

by chi-townbleacherbum on Apr 17, 2008 2:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That really puzzels me...

....regarding Blanco bunting with the pitcher coming up.

Lou looked a little pissed when he came back to the dugout, but I think it was because he took two strikes he could have bunted, instead of because Blanco missing a sign.

Griffey

single to SS, off Theriot. 2 out. Theriot ranging to his right, tried to backhand and went to his knees as the ball went past him.

Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager

by northsider on Apr 17, 2008 2:56 PM CDT   0 recs

Was not a very pretty play.

Looked like he was very surprised Griffey hit it to him.

by okiecubbie on Apr 17, 2008 2:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Um...

Any ML player at any position should never be surprised to have a ball hit to him…period.

Fontenot had when he first came up to the bigs?

Yeah, I don’t either.

Yeah, you're right, I wouldnt.

Despite the fact that he’s not hitting .250 since he’s been up here, or, you know, this line

Wait, I actually would have posted it, because Fontenot isn’t a starter, he’s a utility man.

so either Volquez is wild

and has no control, or Fukudome’s patient approach is rubbing off on the rest of the Cubs lineup – 112 pitches through 5 innings! At least we’ll probably see the bullpen soon. Except that Dusty might leave him in.
