Another MLB.tv question....

Can anyone tell me:

a) why the only game that cant be watched as an archive right now is todays cubs/pirates game (listed as "coming soon") and

b) does this happen often ?

every other game is either on now, or archived game is available, except the one i want.

trying to decide if I should cancel after this first month.

other opinions:

I find the 800 stream to be ugly, but it's usable when Im traveling and have no other option.  the 1200 doesnt seem like much of an improvement, and lags contstantly.

I guess they had problems with the game file.

Their web site says archived games are generally available 30 minutes after the game ends.

Like you, I find the 1200 ks connection lags constantly. For that reason, I usually go for the 8oo ks connection.

This all worked better last year when they used Adobe. Silverlight is still a work in progress.

thanks

I’ll write this one off to technical difficulties and move on.

Not a rare occurence, nor is something that happens often.

With these archive files, that’s the way it seems to me at least.

Could be that the Cubs game are usually the only one that I go looking for in the archives, so I never notice if this happens to other games as often.

I watched today’s game using the 1.2 feed for the 1st time this season, and I had zero problems with it (lag or otherwise), and it did look better than the 800k quality, which surprised me.

Also, I was pleased that MLB.tv isn’t blacking out games in the Noon-3pm window anymore, even when there’s a 2:55pm Fox Saturday game. That’s a welcomed change from last year.

Now if only Extra Innings would get on board with that idea….
