Attention all BCB'ers, here's our response to the racist t-shirt...

Saw this posted at 1 AM, thought I'd share it with you guys. Clearly shows how the voice of individuals can help a great cause.Gordon acknowledged all the fans that wrote in about the shirt, which I am glad to say is all of us and then some. Again, great job everyone, keep your ears and eyes open for other updates. Let's keep Fukudome's stay in Chicago a happy one!

That's got to be a good feeling Al
BCB has become a great way to organize public opinion into an effective campaign for us fans to immediately and effectively respond to issues such as this.
Now, if only we could raise a couple bucks per fan, we can buy the team. ;-)

Well done, everyone.
I heard directly from Peter Chase myself; he acknowledged all your emails (and I think also sent a personal response). Great work by you, and also by the Cubs, who acted swiftly and decisively.

As an Asian dude myself
it pains me to know there are people out there who desire to make a buck with this kind of narrow-minded idiocy. Imagine the kind of stir this would bring up if it were a joke about African Americans. Bottom line I’d love to see Dome #!$-slap some people for this.

You know that's not Dome's style.
In an understated but firm way, he let it be known he didn’t like them. And I’m sure that was part of the reason the Cubs investigated this.

Dome's Style = Exceptional Intelligence
Dome appears to be incredibly sophisticated in the way he plays, carries himself, and deals with the media. It takes a fine mind to handle an issue such as this in an understated yet emphatic manner. This man is the embodiment of manhood, class, and talent.

Sorry, not grouping anyone

I love karma.
I love seeing someone exploiting stupidity having things blow up in their face. I hope the asshole(s) selling these shirts “loses his shirt” and has to go out and get a real freakin’ job. I also hope that any Cub fans (or, more likely, casual observers) who actually paid money for these shirts will realize the stupidity of it thanks to the media coverage and throw them away. They need to eat their $15 and do the right thing.

Also
I don’t think the Cubs gave the guy one red cent to stop it.
There is a report elsewhere there’s a woman selling them though.
We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.

I saw that woman...
... and let the Cubs know she’s around.

racist shirt
it,s a very sensitive world we live in today.yet we still murder each other.steal from each other, and hate each other.

the shirt's still for sale...
...or least it was before today’s game. I posted the details on the recommended diary, lemon20pie’s from the other day. Reading the Sun-Times’ follow-up article, I’m guessing that it was the same guy trying to quickly sell off the surplus, curbside, outside of the actual souvenir stand.
Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow night.
