Go Giants

Even though we all know St. Louis won’t be anywhere near the top in a month, I still hate seeing them there. Kinda itches a little, like a rash

What's encouraging me this year so far is...

that we’re able, for the most part, to beat the bad teams. Seemed like the few good Cub teams over the years would always lose to the terrible teams.

Gary, did you catch the embarrassment this morning?

I think Spurs are deffo looking forward to next season. You’d think with all of the cuts rumored that the boys would actually play well though to save their job.

Yeah.

That was an ugly performance against a team in danger of relegation. Why is Ramos playing Keane so deep lately? He and Berbs work too well together for that. Ramos seems to favor Lennon, because of his disruptive speed, but he is a poor crosser (though he crossed nicely to Berbs for the score today) and doesn’t seem to have the chemistry with Berbs that Keano has.

I’m chalking it up to anti-Irish bias.

Anti-Irish

Loss could have something to do with the wearing of my Cavan County Gaelic football jersey today. Just sayin.

I agree, I don’t get dropping Robbie like that. He’s too “scrappy” around goal to do that (to use a term from this site). My patience for Lennon is running thin as well. What’s the right Cubs parallel for him? Corey Patterson?

Hutton
Daws
Woody
Bale
RW: New
Hudd
New CM with some creativity
LW: Jenas/Steed/New (Getting Jenas out of the middle might help him)
Berbs
Keane

O’Hara
Kaboul/New CB
Bent
Steed/Jenas

Not the worst thing in the world.

I think he has potential, and I like how he seems to be really committed to the team.

I wish he could tell himself “I’m 23, I’m 23, I’m 23” and not expect to be first choice just yet.

by Bildo1805 on Apr 19, 2008 2:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah.

Totally agree. Robbo’s been Spurs for a while now, but he’s hurting this team. Third in the PL in scoring, but giving up way to many on the back end. Spurs can’t seem to play with the advantage.

Having Woodgate

and Chimbonda (who’s definitely outta here. What a disappointing transfer) missing didn’t help anything. If Jenas had taken a moment to set himself instead of blasting the ball off-balanced, Spurs might’ve taken all three points.

Obviously it’s Theriot. Every time he DOESN’T go 0-for-4 with 2 scrappy K’s, he gets the POTG and interviewed.

haha, agree

He always seems drunk and disoriented. But last year when they clinched and they interviewed him in the clubhouse, buzzed, he was actually more coherent!

hitting them at a .270/.317/.488/.805 clip for his career, but he was awful for the Cubs.

Happy Passover Jason

He can now go have a nice Seder dinner. Seriously as far as I can tell
he is the only one of the dozen or so Jewish players who is at least
moderately observant.

Al ( and Howard as you are lurking somewhere) have a nice Seder too.
Being a very bad Jew I will probably be going out for Indian food tonight.
