Blogging, Baseball and B?
Not sure what to call this or if anyone is interested but I read what I thought was an interesting article on the NYTIMES website that dealing with the issue of New Media (blogging) and Sports. Many interesting quotes from the world of baseball.

I hope I posted this correctly.
Also includes added words to make this post 75 words long. I have a feeling I might have done something wrong.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

This is a new world.
And the old world (read: traditional media) doesn’t seem to like it very much.
Like it or not, we are here to stay. I’ve said many times I am not interested in credentials or being in the locker room or press box.
But I’m going to write about the games I see, and obviously, people here want to read those recaps.

And,
reading your recaps Al is much better than reading the newspaper! A lot more insight and detail of our team.
This is only the beginning....Lou Pinella end of '07 season and Chicago Transit Authority (the band when they were really good).

Lost in this...
is the reality that the quality and depth of inforormation has become so blurred between newsrooms and independent bloggers that one is hard pressed to answer who is the better source for information.
Way too much debate over credentials though. No athlete is telling a beat writer anything good (on the record) in 21st century sports anyway.
