We had very little to lose tonight anyway.

Marquis vs. Sheets is a hell of a mismatch. Like to limit the damage and give the offense a shot, but you can’t feel that bad about losing this game. I do think we need a new scouting report on Corey Hart, however. That guy kills us. Oh, and Marquis is not a good pitcher.

except for being annoying, that is.

I hate it when people start bitching and offer no insight to what’s being done wrong, what can be changed, etc. It’s because of bombers like you who give Cubs fans a bad reputation.

Why because i complained On bleedcubbieblue.com?

Im the most respectful Cubs public fan of all time, i dont even add to the “drinker” stereotype. im sorry I am dedicated to the cubs for life and I hate when they lose.

So plz tell me how im such a bad cubs fan and cant be JUST like YOU cause god knows my dream in life is to become a cubs fan who goes on a public website and tells people they cant be down about the team they love so much.

Its cubs fans like you who keep people from coming to a sight like this.

I bet if the Cubs win you’ll blaze this site to the high heavens, screaming that they’re the best team, like, ever.

When did i say i was knowledgable or not irritating? I just dont say how you can say how i give the cubs fan a bad rap? Do i believe in curses? Do i not watch the games? Do i sit in the bleachers drinking and screaming at opposing fans who love thier team? NO. Dont act like you know me either.

Did I say the cubs suck? Did i say i hate them? Did i say anything but it didnt even look like they cared?

I think we both need to agree that we dont know anything about the other so what the point of keeping this argument going? God knows I didnt come in here to argue to some guy ill never meet nor know.

Sometimes I just scratch my head.

Most of the Cubs’ pitchers act like they don’t know the importance of getting ahead. Every damn run seems like its because someone fell behind and had to come right over the plate. Also, Lou must have been hitting the Jack before the game. I don’t care if Marquis is a good hitting pitcher. With the bases loaded and two outs, when its clear that Marquis is just hanging around, how the hell do you let him hit. Every run is important.

Its funny, you spend most of your life gripping a baseball. And in the end, its almost always the other way around.

Crummy Cub Pitching

You don’t win games giving up 10 runs! The pitching stinks period.

I hope this puts to rest all the silly World Series talk. This club has a lot that has to go right with their pitching before it can even smell the World Series, much less the playoffs.

Not quite

I was on this site last year, and believed we could get to the World Series, only to see our usual lousy pitching blow another chance.

Of course the season is not over a whole lot of things happen in a marathon. But, we will not reach the goals we all want unless they either trade for, or bring someone up , who can get the job done.

by zevkalman on Apr 29, 2008 10:27 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Greene's an excellent player...

...good defense and he seems to hit very well when he’s not at Petco. I’m not even sure that a Park Factor covers the difference here; Greene’s home-road splits are much broader than the average hitter, and it may be that Greene is affected more than most players by Petco. I’d love to see him in blue pinstripes.

I heard we cut Les Walrond

So we could resign him to a more lucrative contract, then trade him for Derek Jeter, Phil Hughes, Chien Ming Wang, and Joba Chamberlain.

Stop it with the name calling

I hate it when people think all Cubs fans are drunks and don’t care about baseball. And when you call people fat or gay you only add to that stereotype.

Marquis

We knew going in to this season Marquis made the rotation due to Hendry`s stupidity! 21 million over 3 years! Gee, give me a blank check and turn me loose! He has to be held accountable for his free-spending.

Thinking out loud about trades...

Whaddya think the Yankees would give up for Geo? Phil Hughes? Joba?

Why would we give up Geo?

You guys and your trades. You all do realize we’re in first, right? And we had one of the hottest 2 weeks in baseball?

Who the hell do we put in as catcher, as well?

Good God, some people here really need to think.

We've got Koyie Hill!

The one man that Lou might actually consider hitting after the pitcher spot.

Haha

There’s nothing like DFA’ing someone just so he can be the starting catcher. It’s playing hard-to-get.

Good idea...

the best catcher we’ve had in…forever…let’s get rid of him.

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

I'm not saying

run him out of town. But would we rather have an top end catcher or pitcher?

I’m going back home for a little bit. It’s usually a barren wasteland when classes aren’t going on, but at least it’ll be quiet. Are you here for only the weekend?
