you know
Jose Macias was the emergency catcher. I mean, he would be a better option..
2008 Cubs: Why Beat A Team in Regulation, when you can beat them in extras?
We totally need to reacquire Macias.
And Manny Alexander too. That man played HARD, darn it.

He would work..
2008 Cubs: Why Beat A Team in Regulation, when you can beat them in extras?
And Terry Mulholland, I don't care how old he is.
To play catcher I mean. He’s a GAMER.
Then once we get him, let’s trade Lee and Ramirez for Darin Erstad.
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
I think they should convince Jeromy Burnitz to come out of retirement
and play SS
2008 Cubs: Why Beat A Team in Regulation, when you can beat them in extras?
We'd have a sweet double play combo
with Burnitz at SS and Henry Rodriguez at 2B. O HENRY INDEED!

and all we need to do is resign Bobby Hill for 3b and Jody Gerut for 1st

C – Terry Mulholland, Jose Macias
1b – Gody Gerut
2b – Henry Rodriguez
ss – Jeromy Burnitz
3b – Bobby Hill
LF – Darin Erstad
CF – Neifi Perez
RF – Kevin Orie

More like because Dome is Dome.
He always plays the game that way, he didn’t do anything extraordinary. His regular style of play extended the inning. Just Dome being Dome. (Manny Ramirez, eat your heart out. You heard it here first!)

I like that
Dome is Dome. Should definitely be a post title. Or a slogan for a Nike commercial. I think from now anything good is going to be Dome.
“Those new shoes?”
“Yeah, just got them yesterday.”
“Man those are so Dome!”
they've ALL been hustling
really. They’re patient at the plate, they’re running out of the box… I REALLY like what this team is doing philosophically.

oh, come on...
first of all, don’t ruin my elation with logic… :P and second… I think a lot of people thought that Demp was really reaching to be a SP, and was going to get SHELLED in every start. He’s pitched very well. Better than Lilly or Hill, that’s for sure, and certainly better than Marquis.

I like Uecker, and he seems to be good-spirited about the rivalry – unlike the Marty Brennaman sort. There are literally millions of people who are much less palatable to hear during a ballgame than Uecker.

Same issues as last season
Looked kind of lost in ST, started slow, so-so command, heater off by several MPH, no putaway capability. Then mid-May came. By June he was baaaaaaack.
I’m confident he’ll bounce back. I don’t forsee any injury-related issues here.
Anyone else on Howry? He’s not fighting through an injury, is he?

I’m blessed with listening to White Bread and Billy Show (Brian Anderson and Bill Schoreder). I might be one of the few that have liked the Brewers TV guys in the past (yes I liked Daron Sutton, especially when he started the Sausage Race 5K). However, they are just making some stupid comments tonight. I’m not saying they aren’t plausible because they are, but still. It’s baseball. Things even out. Take a gander:
-Conspiracy theory because the Cubs don’t have to play the Red Sox and the Yankees.
-Cubs are greedy because they want more night games
-No three city road trips for the Cubs
Like I said, plausible, but still excuses. It’s baseball. Things work out.

it’s a sixth-grade girls BASKETBALL score!
Who said they wanted Turnbow? No, THANK you… I wouldn’t like to be him today… wow.

When the Cubs score, they score in bunches apparently.
Number of Innings Scoring 5 Runs:
Cubs lead the league with 9, 2nd place only has 5.

one shy to 20
saved that one for next game….

I’ll have to find a real good one to post.

No 20
but Cedeno’s nickname has caught on so fast, they’ve made a company in recognition of his achievements:

SAVE RUNS FOR TOMORROW!
Tomorrow are the days when we have to play small ball to squeeze a couple runs across.

Missed the 1st inning
When I got home tonight I was kind of pissed I missed a six run first. Now I’m thinking it might be Dempster’s turn again.
I was glad to see Daryle Ward get a hit.
You have to love Lou’s patience with certain guys. We know we’re going to need him before the season is over.
Now, Lou, what about Pie?

Rediculi
I’d ask the cubs to save some runs for later, but these guys can put runs up at will when they have the discipline at the plate that they do….
19-5 over the Brewers is better than sex…
And you base that on what?

I've got you beat.
But as long as you’re a Cubs fan, I’ll grant you that opinion. I just hope you’re wrong. Let’s hope they didn’t leave it all behind tonight.

You know what?
I also hope I’m wrong. And I also hope all the anxiety and dread for the past 44 years will come to an end this year as well.
Well, today was fun
but it’s honestly one single game. Hopefully the Cubs can keep this going tomorrow.
