So David...
is there a certain part of the park where you like to sit? ; )

I sit in right field...
near Al's old spot, pre 2006 bleacher reconstruction. I sit with a number of regulars out there. That is how I was introduced to Al.

I was just kidding since they're from the same spot. But in all honesty, I think these add a lot to the site. Thank you. What do you shoot with?

A Nikon D70S...
with a 70-300mm lens for the playing field shots. I also keep a compact Fuji A500, or E900, camera with me for the wider shots. I keep it simple. I am in the bleachers, and I am still keeping a scorecard. There are games, where I will only be carrying the compact camera with me, so I won't have the longer telephoto zoom at my disposal. I am glad that I can help out readers get a little taste of being at the game. I am fortunate enough to attend many games, each season.
I hope I can keep up with Al. Everyone here knows how dedicated he is to the Cubs.

Absolutely. Well I can't speak for everyone but I know -I- appreciate it. Is there any way you could possibly set up a photo hosting account, such as Flickr, to post more shots? Of course, not all of them can go on the front page, but I'd like to see more. I'd also be willing to make a small donation toward an official BCB Flickr pro account for this purpose.

Exactly!
I would love that. Have a photo link right on your blog that goes to photos only page where you can look at pics and comment on them. I'd pay for that service.

I've got a stupid question.....
Is Soriano suited for the infield still? I know he used to play play infield in Japan and with the Yankees....but can he still play? He's still slim for an outfielder I think. Could he play full time at 2nd or SS again?

No.
He was pretty much a butcher at 2B, which is one of the main reasons he was switched to OF in the first place.
He'll play 2B only in an emergency (such as yesterday, when Mike Fontenot wasn't available). SS isn't even on the radar screen.

The crowd shot at the end
is remarkable. Surely the number of people wearing Cubs merchandise is at least 90% - wow.

I've noticed that in recent years...
... much more so than in the 80's and 90's. Not just at Wrigley, but at virtually every ballpark... most fans wear team merchandise of some kind.

That's the one
thing I was always impressed by watching games played in St. Louis on TV. It always seemed like everyone there was in white or red and it made for a pretty cool effect. I have not been able to watch a cubs game at wrigley yet, but I am sure all the white and blue there have the same effect.
