Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Alumni news

From the San Diego Union Tribune:

Padres C Michael Barrett, bothered by a sprained right elbow ligament, threw before the game and could go on a rehab assignment soon. ...

Former Cubs' pitcher Mark Prior, now with the Padres, had a setback in his rehab from shoulder surgery in April 2007. When he felt discomfort in his shoulder at extended spring training in Arizona, he was sent back to San Diego for an MRI, manager Bud Black said. Prior might visit Dr. James Andrews, who performed the surgery, to be checked out.

debris of a great past

kind of reminds you of the proverbial car wreck you see coming – you don’t want to watch, but you just can’t turn away ..

Michael Barrett...

... is still waiting for Matt Holliday to touch the plate.

True

But he’ll probably throw behind the runner.

There's a short article on Barrett...

...in today’s Sun-Times. He says some nice things. I’m pretty much ambivalent about the guy at this point.

Oh, and remember, folks: Alfonso Soriano is NOT batting leadoff. He's batting first.

As I said about Barrett last year...

... when I interviewed him, he seems like a standup guy who really understands how lucky he is to be a major league player and make all this money. I think he would have been a better player if he had been installed as a third baseman or left fielder somewhere and just stayed there. He never really was a good catcher, but he could hit.

HEY AL

Have you been noticing the last couple games the scoreboard being messed up? Not the actual scoreboard but the digital piece underneath, Culvers ad.

Recently I saw it say Lee was 0-1 with a homer
Last night Soriano was 1-3 with a double minus the homer

I noticed over and over and over again this past week

Yes, I did notice that.

Should have posted about it

I heard...

that nobody on the Cubs liked Barret.

Well, apparently Henry Blanco did.

He drove Barrett to the hospital after Big Z knocked his block off.

Actually, it wasn't.

I know where Blanco lived last year. It wasn’t anywhere near the hospital.
