Today on MLBTR Tory E. Renck reports that
he Rockies have signed lefty Glendon Rusch to a minor league deal.
Rusch, who used to pitch for the Cubs was recently released by the Padres this year. Rusch immediately went to join the Colorado Springs Sky Sox starting rotation. Rusch's agent Dan Evans reports that
"There wasn't just one reason we selected Colorado, there were multiple reasons, Glendon has always pitched well in Denver and we believe this is the best opportunity for him."

wait stop the bus lol
Glendon Rusch who’s weakness is giving up way too many homeruns is going to pitch for the Rockies of all teams? He has a 4.88 ERA and 1.42 WHIP against the Rockies which is just slightly better than his career 5.03 era and 1.48 WHIP.

Well, that isn't the relevant stat.
The agent said, “Glendon has always pitched well in Denver”, not “Glendon has always pitched well against the Rockies”, and the latter wouldn’t be relevant, because if he’s signed by the Rockies, he wouldn’t be pitching AGAINST them, right?
Anyway, this is a case of selective memory. Rusch, in his career, has pitched three games (two starts) in Denver (in Coors Field), and is 0-1 in 14 innings, with a 4.50 ERA. In those 14 innings he allowed 17 hits, but only 1 walk, for a 1.29 WHIP. That all screams “small sample size”, so the agent was exaggerating.
I wish Glendon well. He wasn’t a great pitcher, but always seemed like a class guy.
