2010 All-Star Game to...
... Anaheim, according to this ESPN.com article.
The article goes on to say:
According to the report, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are planning renovations and improvements at Dodger Stadium to coincide with its 50th anniversary in 2012, are aiming at landing the 2013 game.
I'm guessing here, but I'd think if there were the major renovations to Wrigley Field that we know it needs, and that may happen under new ownership, that perhaps the Cubs could host the All-Star Game in 2014 (the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field's opening) or 2016 (the 100th anniversary of the Cubs moving there). Stay tuned.

I'd love to see an All-Star game at Wrigley
The whole idea of seeing Wrigley being the focus of baseball. I love that.
The Home Run Derby that would be a sight.
Please?

If the Home Run Derby were ever held at Wrigley...
...I would fear for ballhawk’s physical and mental well-being. It would make for some great YouTube clips, though.

Bring it on!
Hey – I survived McGwire & Sosa in 1998, not to mention some crazy playoff games in 2003. Although I have to admit, I was in a little better shape back then. Continuing the Indiana Jones theme from yesterday, I’m often reminded of that line from the first one… “It’s the years, it’s the mileage.” ;-)

Would be cool...
If the Home Run derby next time around is better than last time! I was so looking forward to seeing Canseco, McGwire, Fielder, and Griffey hit a million hrs during the derby. Man! That didn’t happen! Between the four, Big Mac hit the only one if i remember correctly. It was cool that Ryno won it though…

The 1990 ASG was at Wrigley.
It was the first year they had the HR derby, as TheHawkRules says above, there were only a handful of HR as the wind was blowing in about 25 MPH.

Yeah, but....
You’d think with all the ‘roids ripping through Canseco’s viens, or power of the triple-cheese burger Fielder ate, or Griffey’s youthfulism, or whatever BigMac had… that a little more than ONE home-run would be hit!

Must have been the during the workout then
That was my first year in Chicago, so I hadn’t quite gotten the hang of Wrigley Field ballhawking yet. Fool that I was, I went inside for the Workout Day – which I think was Monday. Big mistake. Somewhere I still have the pink hat they gave away that day as a promotional item.
I’m not sure on the numbers, but in talking with Moe, Rich, and the other regulars afterwards, I think something like 20-25 balls made it out to Waveland, and the ballhawks got 17-19 of them. Not surprisingly, Canseco and Fielder did the most damage. Cecil might have hit the farthest one – there used to be a little frame house right down the line, sandwiched between the big yellow brick building on the corner of Waveland and Kenmore and the big dark red brick six flat building that are both still there. Cecil hit that house on the fly. It might have even landed on the tiny 2nd floor balcony/deck facing the field. I kinda recall something like that, but that may be a bit of subconscious embellishment, too.
So while my soon-to-be ballhawk buddies were cleaning up on the streets, I was jammed inside the bleachers, hardly able to move at all, it was so crowded. They get All-Star baseballs and memories for a lifetime, I get a stupid pink hat… Grrr…. ;-)

You beat me to it, so I'll just add:
Final Totals for 1990 HRD
1st. Sandberg (CHC) ... 3 HRs
2nd-(T) M. McGwire (OAK) ... 1 HR
2nd-(T) M. Williams (SF) ... 1 HR
4th: B. Bonilla (PIT), J. Canseco (OAK), C. Fielder (DET), K. Griffey Jr (SEA), D. Strawberry (NY) ... 0 HR
In the actual game, the AL won 2-0. Check out the starting line-ups:
AL
1. R. Henderson LF
2. W. Boggs 3B
3. J. Canseco RF
4. C. Ripken SS
5. K. Griffey Jr CF
6. M. McGwire 1B
7. S. Alomar C
8. S. Sax 2B
9. B. Welch P
NL
1. L. Dykstra CF
2. R. Sandberg 2B
3. W. Clark 1B
4. K. Mitchell LF
5. A. Dawson RF
6. C. Sabo 3B
7. M. Scioscia C
8. O. Smith SS
9. J. Armstrong P
Julio Franco (TEX) was a dapper young 32 at the time and had the only 2 RBIs in the game.
Of course, this was also the year Sandberg’s 40 HRs led the league. (Fielder hit 51 for Detroit in the AL.)

Jack Armstrong.
Wow. There’s a guy whose career went down the toilet in a big hurry. He wasn’t even that good in 1990—he wound up 12-9, 3.42 and only made one relief appearance in the World Series for the Reds, after being 11-3, 2.28 at the All-Star break (which is why he was selected to start), and never again had a winning season. It got so bad that only two years later he was selected in the expansion draft by the Marlins.

Unfortunately the AL/NL switch doesn't work
But it would be cool to have it be 2014 the 100th anny of the park.
We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.

The New Busch Stadium
Phoenix and Cincinnati are lobbying hard for 2011. The rather ambitious plans the Dodgers have for renovating Dodger Stadium and the areas around the stadium won’t be completed until 2012, so I doubt the All Star game would go to LA before 2013.

Oops
Just realized your post already contained this information about an All Star game at Dodger Stadium. Here is a good article about the site possibilities for the next few years: http://tinyurl.com/55xlst
This is how it shapes up:
2008 Yankee Stadium
2009 Busch Stadium
2010 Anaheim Stadium
2011 Chase Field or Great American Ball Park (outside shots; Petco or Citizen’s)
2012 Kansas City (or possibly Minnesota)
2013 Dodger Stadium
2014 Whoever didn’t get 2012
2015 One of the NLs that didn’t get 2011
2016 Oakland (or should I say Fremont)
2017 One of the NLs that didn’t get 2011 or 2015

Thanks for the info.
So a renovated Wrigley might have to wait 10+ years. Well, if it’s renovated, it can wait.

The amazing thing
and what makes this whole All Star game thing most challenging for Bud & Co. is that now that the Mets and Marlins are gettting new ballparks, the ENTIRE National League, with the exception of the Cubs and Dodgers will have new ballparks. It’s pretty difficult to squeeze all those new ballparks into the All Star game rotation, and now, Minnesota, Oakland as well as Miami and the Mets will be clamoring for All Star games in the coming years.
Also, about the Dodger Stadium renovation…from what I have seen so far, other than widening concourses and upgrading of non-seating areas, it sounds like it will mostly involve the areas outside the ballpark, unless I am misreading the press release. It sounds like they will take an approach similar to Disneyland by improving access, building some parking garages, creating multiple stadium entrances and turning the area that is now the parking lot into a retail/theme park area. There is also some talk of improving the view of downtown LA from the stadium, but I’m not sure how they do that.

The only way they do that...
... is to turn the stadium around (since downtown is behind home plate), and I don’t see them doing that.

My Bad
I misread the press release. The view of downtown is from the plaza that will be built.
“Top of the Park – The Green Necklace connects to a large scale outdoor plaza featuring breathtaking 360 degree views spanning the downtown skyline and Santa Monica Bay, the Santa Monica and San Gabriel Mountains, and the Dodger Stadium diamond.”
