CUBS Win!!! Despite....

...the ongoing debates over the playing time of essentially 4 utility players and a closer with a hankering for dusting hitters.

I hope I am wrong but I don't see Wood as a closer.Blowingf

Blowing 1 in every 3 oppurtunities is not what is needed

ok.

So put Marmol there.

Now, who do you put into those critical two men on, one out situations?

Woody, who is allegedly blowing one in three?

No, thank you.

I don't have the answer.

But I don’t need to in order to know this situation with Wood as a closer is not gonna work.

it's not, huh?

Worked today.

I bet it’ll work tomorrow.

I’ll bet you $100 right here that Woody saves games in the post-season. And he’s dominant.

A sweep

is NOT out of the question here. This is one of the lightest hitting lineups the Dodgers can field right now. Only Ethier scares the hell out of me. He just owns Dempster, and proved it again today. If you recall, he deflated the Cubs last September with a 3 run shot off Dempster to beat the Cubs with 2 out in the 9th of the 4th game of the series.

But, the Cubs turned things around while that was the beginning of the end for the Dodgers, who - I believe - dropped 8 straight after that to end their divisional hopes.

Good observations!

...and I think a sweep is in order. It may be a bit cocky, but who cares we are playing so well at home right now I want these opposing teams to be happy that they didn’t lose by 5 or 6 when they come to Wrigley Stadium.

Loney

He’s been struggling bit he scares the hell out of me. He nearly dinged the pole today for what surely would have been a game winner. He’s i the lineup the next 2 days.

the Cubs and Rockies are pondering taking Jake Odorizzi with their first round pick. For what it is worth, Odorizzi is a native of Illinois.

Why is there a problem with them asking it and him answering it?

Did it hurt you to see him get asked it?

Since the press always asks dumb baseball questions do you really think a smart baseball one would have been asked instead?

We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.
