Fukudome bobblehead day...

I am going to the game tommorow and was wondering what time would be a good time to get there so I can get one of the Kosuke Fukudome bobble heads.  Wasn't sure if this deserved a fanpost but i didn't know where else to put it.  I was thinking of getting in the stadium at 5, but I'd like to get there at 5:15.  Is 5:15 to late or is even 5 to late?

Thanks

Bobblehead!

Let me make a confession. I can’t even stay for the actual game tomorrow (have to catch an international flight), but am staying over in town tonight just to go down early and get the bobblehead.

5:00 should be fine.

Night game crowds tend to be late arriving, and especially tomorrow, lots of people don’t get off work until 5.

Earlier?

I went today and got the Wrigley at 12:30 and was empty handed for the golf club cover, which was for the first 10,000 adults. The bobblehead is for the first 10,000 fans, I thought they would be gone by 5:00 since the gates open at 4:05 correct? 6:05 start tomorrow?

Yabbut...

... the dynamics of an arriving crowd are totally different for a Tuesday night game than for a Monday afternoon game on a holiday. Most people had yesterday off and arrived early.

A 6:05 night game will have a mostly empty ballpark at 5:00. I still think you’ll be OK if you get there by then.

Thanks Al!

makes a lot of sense and figured it wouldn’t be the same as Monday but maybe a little more crowded. thanks for the input!

I'm hoping for an empty ballpark at 5:00pm...

as I have been looking forward to my ‘Dome (thanks to dragonsfantic) for some time.

Can’t wait for the game tonight. My first this year.

FWIW

I have bleachers for tonight. I work til 5 and wont get to the game until 555. I asked my girlfriend and her sister to arrive at 445 just to be really safe. Bleachers tend to fill in a little faster.

BTW

It looks like it’s going to be freezing tonight. I’ll be the one with a balnket on.

Al's Estimate

Looked right about on. I got mine and left about 4:30 and it looked like they had exhausted a bit more than half of the supply.

It was pretty crazy – there was a Japanese TV crew interviewing people right after the gate opening!

Actually at 5:00 they were already OUT!

at 5:00 they didn’t have any more bobbleheads at the gates above^
also the gates in front of the firestation were also OUT!

good thing i arrived before gates opened.
i got about 5 offers to sell my bobblehead for $10-$20 , to which i replied $50 or ill gladly take it home.

The lines yesterday were insane.

I have never seen that many people there two hours before a regular season game, when it was cold, and the game was at an unusual starting time.

They still had them in the bleachers till about 5:15.

Made My Flight

I’m pretty confident I have the only Fukudome bobblehead in London right now.

LOL

Wow, I bet you do. And are you back in London already? That was fast.

I guess I wasn't surprised

the bobbleheads were gone by the time I got to the game at 5pm. There was at LEAST twice as many people there an hour before a 6pm game as I had ever seen (sans playoffs).

I was surprised.

I had no idea those would be that popular.

But if we pay that much we should get the real Fukudome, right?
