Why I cannot watch Dome's homer on Gameday?
What kind of long ball was it?
Maybe I can watch it within 30 min locally here in Japan….
I'm bleeding Dragons Blue.
it was an opposite field home run
that’s all i know, i didn’t see it either

I agree
I regularly have to calm myself down when I think about it though. You don’t win a championship in May, but your sure can lose it.
true
but this type of winning is contagious.. Everyone is doing their part

i actually said to myself when they got run number nine
well we are going to have to score ten.. And not actually thinking that was impossible..

A friend who is decidedly not a sports fan went today because another friend had his bachelor party at the game, He was almost hyperventilating on the phone and our other friend told me he was going as crazy as the others today.
He has a zillion questions about the team so the Cubs made a new fan today,
Even my mom called me to say she head heard the recap on the WGN radio news,

This game will be
rebroadcast at 1:30 a.m. Sat. morning on CSN.
I’m just dazed. I absolutely love this team. I loved that even when we were behind by 8 no one was on the ledge today. It goes to show you can’t count this team out.

We lost two ?
Seriously. We swept Dodgers & D’Backs taken two straight from Rockies and beat
Padres 3 out of 4. I count that at 11-1 . Where is the other loss ?

We won the first game, 7-6 in 10 innings, and lost the next day, 4-2, with Aaron Cook shutting us down.

I rarely get to watch games on TV during the summer
Since I generally work 70 hour weeks to pay for school, but today I was able to sleep in, wake up and watch THE GREATEST GAME EVER.
Also. Does this remind anyone else of last year when the Cubs blew a huge lead to the Rockies, only to get it back in the 9th? Seems like every super-dramatic game comes against Denver.
"Hey! If the moon were made of ribs, wouldja eat it? I know I would!"
Why is MLB's title for this games's story...
“Cubs pull off a remarkable eight-run comeback late” wasn’t it a 9 run comback?

It was 8-0 and 9-1...
... so they were trailing by 8. Yes, they needed 9 runs to come back, but that’s not the way it’s usually referred to.

My Dvd recorder is broken so I only have a VHS. I’m going to make a fanpost about making copies all I’ll be asking is for people to send me a blank vhs tape in a postage paid envelope so it doesn’t cost me money to make copies but I won’t profit either.

Best Game Ever Was Actually This One...
http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN197707280.shtml
16-15 in 13 innings over the vaunted Big Red Machine. Dave Rosello drove in Rick Reuschel with the winning run. This game had everything – a great comeback, great defense, late inning heroics, incredible drama….
But it was also 31 seasons ago so let’s revel in the present!
It may have been 31 years ago, but you are RIGHT, baby!
Give the old school it’s time in the sun again. I’d have to agree with you on that one.
THAT was perhaps the wildest, wooliest and amazing game I’ve ever seen the Cubs play – only the May 1979 blowout could compare! Hands down, as great as the Cubs have played this spring and since June 2007 onward, that Reds game was truly One For The Ages.
For the almost 5 hours they were locked in battle, I was glued to the TV. The Lovable Losers were staring the Big Red Machine down and refused to back down. God, it gives me chills remembering that one! There was no way I was going to miss the fireworks. And when Rick Reuschel came up to do relief in the thirteenth, it went to a whole new level .. and finally, TRIUMPH! It was like we won the World Series and I remember how Reuschel came storming in pumping that fist and he got mobbed.
For you younger Cub fans, you guys need to PAY some good money and find that game somewhere in the vast media jungle and watch that one. It’d be well worth the find. Remember that it came at a bleak time when the Cubs hadn’t been any real presence in the NL since 1972 .. and this was the year of the Tease, when the 1977 Cubs briefly .. oh so briefly .. looked like they might be able to challenge the Machine. It was a giddy June in which there was no swoon, but the fade to black finally began around August .. and the Cub Nation once more would be left to sigh “wait til next year. ..”
But this one was a BLAST, a joy in the midst of the bleak 1970’s .. and here’s what the home plate celebration was like

Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!

Story: my dad was in the hospital at the time. He said he could hear cheering up and down the corridor when the Cubs won.

Un amazin believable! I GOT to get a copy of that one!
Anyone got a copy on DVD or VHS? I beg you! contact me and I’ll swap you anything else I can scrape up out of my Cubs game collection for the past four years that I might have ..
I was just briefly, ever so briefly, scanning gameday at work and saw that 9-1 score and said - JUST LIKE AL DID - “oh, bummer .. well, maybe tommorrow ..” and then I came home from work and caught ESPN actually showing Bobby Hull’s Ditkaesque version of the 7th inning stretch .. and then the UnAmazinBelievable Miracle going down.
Ohhh that I wasn’t so broke I can’t afford MLB.com ..
ANYONE who can help a fellow Cub fan, lemme know at rafael@spiritwatch.org, thanks!
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
