Marshall Optioned
According to the Cubs website, Marshall has been optioned to the I-Cubs to make room for Eyre.....still leaving us with one lefty.

not surprising at all.
He has been mediocre at best this year.
If you think you've seen it all...just wait!

Thanks for sharing.
Nanika Ga Okoru!
Oh, and remember, folks: Alfonso Soriano is NOT batting leadoff. He's batting first.
Piniella...
...wants Marshall stretched out to start. No need to keep him here if he is not going to get into a game in relief… send him down, stretch him out, and he’d be scheduled to start Sunday or Monday.
Jacque Jones is gone, and I doubt Ivan DeJesus would mind this!
He can't come back for 10 days
unless there is an “injury”....

I Meant...
... that he would start at AAA on Sunday or Monday. They are stretching him out to start.

so
this means Gallagher will likely get an upcoming start in Liebers place? Or do you guys think Lieber gets another shot?
Lieber Will Get The Start...
... on Tuesday, I believe.

ick
I have tix for that game. Oh well, that’s just how it shakes out sometimes I suppose.
Why "ick"?
Seriously, I think people are way too stressed out and overboard about one bad start by Lieber. Up to that he’d been excellent all spring and for April.
Now, if he’s bad again, you might think about replacing him. Until then I’m perfectly willing to give him another shot, especially against a poor offensive team like the Padres.

Weird...
...but I trust in Lou. Still, I like Marshall a heck of a lot more than Fox, but that’s just me.
I like a good story...
such as Fox’s but I have to agree with Chadnudj.

Big deal
Sean Marshall is nothing to write home about. But alas, a lot of folks on this blog vastly overrate his ability and major league future. At best he is a long man in a bullpen.
Lou, stop being obstinate...bat Soriano # 6.

Marshall
I think Marshall was sent down because he’s considered a starting pitcher by the Cubs and he’s not starting right now.
I see something in this kid.
We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.
Everyone was guessing Fox too...
My 08 Cubs record 4-0
My 08 W.Sox record 0-2 (I havent seen a sox win in 3 years)
Updated April 26th
well, but it makes a certain kind of sense.
We need to replace Marquis, and possibly Hill. So, we need new starting pitchers. If Marshall can make that happen, by getting more SP playtime, then good—we’ll call him back up in a few weeks, and he can do that, which will allow Lou to drop this “rotate the top three through all the starts except when absolutely necessary”.
Makes me wonder what they’re going to do with Gallagher, but maybe he goes down when Marshall comes back up.
