Latest from Glanville
If you haven’t caught his previous columns in the NYT (I think Al posted a link to an earlier one on Clemens) it's cant miss reading in my opinion for baseball fans. His writing contains a unique mix of ex-MLB player perspective, part Ivy League and part fan. The kind of guy you would love to have beer with in the bleachers and talk about baseball all day. (Most likely just pepper with questions and listen)
Great tie in about his time with the Cubs (curious to know who his AA roommate was?), hitting a curveball and life...great stuff, enjoy and discuss

Good find!
What a stand-up guy. Glad he was apart of this organization.

Yes
he is an outstanding individual. I have gotten his autograph and two different cubs conventions. Both times he was just walking around. I remember a couple years ago no on else recognized him and i got to talk to him for a few minutes and shake his hand and everything.

The article doesn't say who the roommate was.
Looking at the rosters of the 1993 and 1994 Orlando Cubs (the Cubs Double-A affiliate at the time), the only two AA teams Glanville played for in the Cubs organization, the only player who fits the description of someone who was the “best” hitter on the team (a subjective judgment) who was sent down to A-ball would have been Brooks Kieschnick.

Glanville
I think Glanville would make a fine team president some day.
We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.
