by cwyers on Jun 10, 2008 8:23 PM CDT up reply actions

didn't mean for it to sound that way.

No reasonable human being would cheer an injury even against their teams biggest rival. He took two steps out of the batters box and grabbed his calf and fell to the ground. Had to be helped off by two teammates.

Yahoo says he left the game with a calf cramp. That would be great news but it sure as hell doesn’t look like a cramp.

He's pitching way above his head.

And the Cardinals pitching staff looks a lot better than it is thanks to their superb defense. Defense isn’t going to keep his home run rate this low, though. I expect him to blow up, and probably sooner rather than later.

by slcathena on Jun 10, 2008 8:42 PM CDT up reply actions

I don't think Lee will make it...

You have to remember that every team has to be represented so Adrian Gonzalez will take up one of the 1st base slots as the Pad’s lone representative. Then you have Berkman and probably Pujols (unless this injury is significant). I don’t think they will take 4 1Bs even with the DH. Hope I am wrong…

by smmcctrk on Jun 10, 2008 8:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Didn't they take four last year?

And leave one on the bench when Pujols might have ended the game. (Not important to the Cubs, ultimately, but still…)
