Jurrjens scratched for Wednesday..Bennett will start
Yet another starting roation for the Braves...shades of the 85 Cubs:
Jun 11 Mark Bowman, of MLB.com, reports Atlanta Braves SP Jair Jurrjens (ankle) was scratched from his start Wednesday, June 11, with a twisted right ankle. The team is hoping Jurrjens can prevent a trip to the disabled list.

Bennett isn't bad but more bad luck for the Braves. Bennett has never faced the Cubs yet in his career. He is 0-3 with a 3.47 ERA.
CORRECTION: Bennett has never faced the Cubs as a Brave, as a Brewer in 2004 he pitched 7 2/3 innings vs the Cubs only giving up 1 ER.

this could possibly be bad news
because we always lose to pitchers who we have never faced/havent faced in while
ex. shawn estes this year, nick masset last year vs the sox, and many others
Jurrjens has never faced the Cubs either...
Jim Edmonds is the only Cub that’s played against him – earlier in the year while on the Padres, so does it really make a difference? They would both be new…Bennett just has an easier to pronounce name.
Previous years i would agree with you....
But this team as learned and accepted patience at the plate which is giving our hitters more pitches to see and learn about the starter.

Oh, and remember, folks: Alfonso Soriano is NOT batting leadoff. He's batting first.
I guess this is good news
Jurrjens has been having a pretty decent year up to this point
"This is why Major League Baseball does not need instant replay, because then every single play will then be reviewed." -- Joe Morgan, 5/18/08, referring to an umpire ruling a Carlos Delgado homerun foul when replays showed it hit the foul pole.
He's always been average
But Bennett has a lower ERA.

Bennett...
... hasn’t faced the Cubs since 2004, when he was a reliever with the Brewers.
Only D-Lee has more than 3 AB vs. Bennett, and he’s 3-for-4 with a HR.
The Cubs had never faced Jurrjens, so as long as they have a scouting report on Bennett, they should be fine.

Let off some steam, Bennett.

I wonder if...
Bennet will “Stick Around” in their starting rotation?

What, you don't have a picture of Bennett
in his chainmail vest?
This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.

Cubs are a tidal wave right now
They bring the pitcher to them.

I think they'll eventually "let him go."

No pun intended, right?
THANKS BENNETT!
DEROSA: How did it feel when you're sitting in Baton Rouge and it came across the ticker that Mark DeRosa had just signed to play second base with the Chicago Cubs.
THERIOT: In all honestly, when I saw it, I really felt like punching you right in the mouth and or breaking your leg.
