Looking like don't need Kerry,

My new life, my new world, and my beautiful daughter:
Kayla Davis: Due date (8-11-08)!
Hahaha
I love when the broadcast messes up and cuts into the beeps they use for offensive words. Each time I think that either Len or Bob is losing it in the booth.
Hilarious!

Now were in trouble!
Big Z was clearly our ace. What about now, Dempster, Marquis or Lilly ? All four are wiping out the rest of the league.
And Gallagher isn’t exactly stinking it up either.
We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.

"Don't give me any of that ole' bulls#!t." - Lou Brown
This is how bullpens get worn out!
There is absolutely NO reason to go through 4-5 pitchers in this game, and there is no reason to bring in Marmol in a 7-1 game!
Why not bring in Lieber, let him throw 3 innings to close out the game and give every else the night off? It is much easier on a pitching staff over the long haul to have 1 guy throw three innings rather than have 3 or 4 pitchers throw 1 inning or less…..
um

I was overreacting a bit … irritated more at using so many pitchers in what was a 7-0 game…but I usually don’t yell at folks.
Marmol's the only one I'm really concerned about
He is going to get tired by mid-August getting used like this.
agreed
the numbers are piling up…..but I have faith in Lou. He’s not Dusty. It seems to me he’s trying to build up marmol’s endurance. If you look at Marmol’s outings, most of them are under 20 pitches. That’s no more than a warmup session.

10.19 SAVES FOR RELIEF PITCHERS
A save is a statistic credited to a relief pitcher, as set forth in this Rule 10.19.The official scorer shall credit a pitcher with a save when such pitcher meets all four of the following conditions:
(a) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
(b) He is not the winning pitcher;
(c) He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched; and
(d) He satisfies one of the following conditions:
(1) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning;
(2) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batters he faces); or
(3) He pitches for at least three innings.
He was safe as hell.

I think it's funny how EVERY GAME this gets posted, everybody posts how much they love it.
He has that kind of power over people, I guess. I’m jealous…

Yes, because it's a meaningless exhibition game
Being played by a team trying to break a 100-year championless streak
Why would we take it slow?
respect doesn't mean
pitching anyone important. It might mean getting to the park on time. :D

better yet, make Grossman a pitcher

Sad thing is he’s the best QB we’ve had since Kramer.

Its sad that some idiots would boo him if he sang the 7th inning stretch an actual CUBS fan from childhood who frequents the park and we had Tony Romo a SOX fan who plays for the COWBOYS sing.

He was awful. The Cubs won the game I was at that Grossman sang at and did a good job.
We sat in front of him and his wife at a game a few years ago. He is a fan. He really knows the game and the team.
And his wife is very pretty.

well I honestly think he could be a pretty decent quarterback
except people like to bash the guy instead of letting him mature. I mean 2006 was really his rookie season if you think about it sense he didn’t play that much the previous three
2008 Cubs: Who needs nine innings, when you only need a 7th?
I had a bad feeling he’d leave after last offseason to Detroit or Minnesota both places he’d upgrade their QB situation and beat us twice a year while Orton sucked butt.

It might affect whether or not I watch it because if some of the top guys are playing it might be interesting to see.

Rookie ball players, mostly, I believe.
I wouldn’t expect to see anyone who’s ever going to make the majors.

WGN’s graphic for tomorrow’s game said “Wrigley Field”. I bet they have an automatic template that puts “Wrigley Field” in whenever the Cubs are home.

Hi folks,
Have company so glanced through the posts. Yadier Molina was taken to the hospital after a collision at the plate today. Has anyone heard an update to his condition? He was braced and taken off on a stretcher and was not moving when he left. It is a scary thing, a neck injury. HAS ANYONE HEARD AN UPDATE on his condition? All I found is a very short article on the play….
Just did a quick GWS
a found nothing more explicit than what you stated. Didn’t see it, but that’s very scary nonetheless. I wish him well.
Go All In and Enjoy The Ride.
