I posted this in the other thread but this new one started.
The arthogram is what worries me. It might be a precaution.
But it also may explain why they know now he will miss a start. HE won’t be able to throw for 4 or 5 days or something like that if I remember from when Prior had it.

Actually in a way if this has been bothering him for awhile we needed him to be more like Prior. When you’re hurting you should tell your team. Injuries don’t go away by wishing and praying,

Manning up so to speak is not always the best thing, When something is bothering you you should say something,
How would we all feel if a tomorrow we find out Z is lost for the season and if he had said something 2 weeks ago it might have been less serious?

Zambrano is wishing and praying it goes away? Where do you get this insider info?
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
I phrased that badly What I mean is if it has been bothering him awhile and it might have because of the trouble he;s had the last few starts wishing and hoping doesnt make it better and rarely does pitching through it. He should have said something earlier.

that name is a 4 letter word as far as i'm concerned
i’m already getting estimates of restitching “HART” where it used to say that on my #22 jersey
I agree with your concern.........
the MR arthrogram is a little more sensitive than the plain MRI, and more specifically used for concern of LABRAL problems…...this is waht concerns me… hopefully this will be negative, but the fact that he’s getting a MR arthrogram immediately unfortunately puts mch more concern for a mroe serious (season ending) injury.
FWIW
I read that the MR arthrogram is also used to detect pinpoint tears of the rotator cuff. I’m not sure how serious that is, but when it comes to a pitcher that sounds like at least a month or two. Yikes.
you are correct...
however, if there was concern for just a small tear of the rotator cuff (of which many play with anyway), an MRI should be suffice, and wouldn’t cause him to be shut down for any period of time if negative. The fact that the MR-Arthrogram is what is being ordered from the get go suggests to me that, at least on exam, Z showed some concern for other glenoid/labral problem…......hopefully not…

Also, Erik Bedard is officially on the market, according to Jayson Stark.

He reminds me of Lilly in that....
He’s good for 200 plus innings every year with a decent ERA. A good number 2 or 3 SP. I just think the Reds would want to hold onto him. They have a good young nucleus of players and might make some noise next year.
