Yeah...the other team has a 2 run lead!
I mean…if it were tied we might have a chance…the Sox could get a one run penalty and have a run taken away or something…but a 2 run lead? Fuhgeddaboutit!

Yeah, all we need

Was hoping for a pick me up once the Cubbies returned to Wrigley...
but they seem to have fallen into an offensive funk offensively…....it all started when DLee un-clutched into a DP a waaaaaaaay back in the first killing a nice start…..grrr….arrrr…..
Situations like that have a way of coming back to haunt us
It seems like pitchers usually settle down when you let them off the hook like that
by bluekoolaide on Jun 20, 2008 3:34 PM CDT up reply actions
Well, at least...
these last few games have allowed Santo to catch up with his normal “whine” quota.
Dome-san!!
I have watched the entire game without any sound....it is fantastic not having
to suffer the idiots Sox announcers…...even if my team isn’t ahead at least I can spite the Sox by refusing to listen to “He Gone!”

This is where the Cubs will have their chance
Ozzie takes a pitcher out that is cruising in favor of his BP.
I realize that they have a great BP, but they do tend to blow it in this situation…
Just a guess…
"I'm retiring to the bedroom to finish this one up. I have tried the floor, both couches, and the recliner and haven't found the lucky spot." - Cribbs463
Lou's mistake...
He let Lilly hit for himself in the 6th. Ozzie hits for Danks, leadoff single.

Cabrera almost homered, but it hit off the left side of the foul pole and went foul.
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
we are not
a very good team without Soriano and Edmonds
Speaking of an opposing ballplayer hitting one down the LF line, I enjoy the taste of sweetened tea.
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
idk, it seemed to go off the foul pole on the replay, but i don't think the left edge of it is lined up with the stripe? just a guess
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
no one really seemed to doubt it was foul, Ozzie didn't come out or anything
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
Lilly has pitched well...
a few bad pitches, that’s all.

Right
there’s no shame in giving up three runs-esp. to a team that’s been hitting as well as the Sox lately

minor strain
And said it’s encouraging news. I am too encouraged because minor strains can be healed properly if given the right amount of time (2-3 weeks).
This is just what I'd hoped it would be
if had to be an injury this is about as good as it gets and, as someone mentioned earlier, resting our Ace in late June isn’t such a bad thing.
I say...
Put him on the 15 day DL and let him get all rested up until after the all star break. 15 days will put you just before the ASB and then we’ll have him going for the second half push!!
"Go Cubs Go"
Lou said Z would
have short outings for a while when he does come back. Soriano said he was ready to take batting practice and Lou said only if it’s with a whiffle ball. Lou will keep a Sori on a tight leash I think.
Soriano is an athlete
Strong guy, he will heal without trouble. He’s not like that loser Prior :)
