Anyone know of a good Cubs bar in Scottsdale/Phoenix?

Hi all - I'm in Scottsdale visiting relatives and was hoping to go out to a bar to watch the Cubs/Sox today and tomorrow.  Anyone know a good Cubs bar in the Scottsdale area?

Thanks!

Also, even if you don't know a good Cubs bar, does anyone know of a good sports bar that might be convinced into showing Cubs/Sox?  I figure many of us have been to spring training  or Dbacks games and have looked into this before.  Thanks so much for the info.

Sports Bar - Scottsdale

It kind of depends on where you are in Scottsdale. If you are up North (near TPC/Kierland Commons), you likely won’t find a better place than the Fox Sports Grill (http://www.foxsportsgrill.com/scottsdale/). They will put on the Cubs game if you ask nicely and they have HUGE screens.

As far as Cubs themed places are concerned, there is the Cubs Park Bar on Bell Road (I’ve never been there, so can’t comment) and of course, Sluggo’s which is close to Hohokam in Mesa. If you are closer to downtown Scottsdale, there are numerous places that are Cubs friendly. One of my favorites is Native New Yorker on Thomas Rd. Don’t be put off by the name, they love the Cubs, as do most of the places in the Phoenix area…with all the Chicago transplants and the Spring Training history.

Just make sure wherever you go they seat you inside close to the air conditioning…it is supposed to hit 112 today! Good luck!

SLUGGO'S!

I know Sluggo’s is a little out of the way, but it’s a really cool place if you’re a Cubs fan. I dont know if they do it all summer, but over spring training Old Styles are $1.50. The last time I was in there Fergie Jenkins, Billy Williams and Tunder Dan Majerle were all there!

Restaurant and Bar

Don and Charlie’s in Scottsdale. A bit pricey but has A LOT of CUBS stuff there.

Don & Charlie's

is a fairly nice steakhouse filled with baseball memorabilia and has a full service bar, but doesn’t really fit the definition of a “sports bar” and isn’t a place one would go to watch a game.

There's One In Mesa

There’s a sports bar called Sluggo’s at 161 N. Centennial Way in Mesa. It used to be Harry and Steve’s years ago, as in Harry Caray and Steve Stone. It might be too far for you but it is a Cubs bar for sure.
