Alot of sh*t in one inning. 9 runs!

Carlos needs to get his groove back.
Not a good start. The whole reason he’s out there is to get him some confidence back.

Marmol has taken 3 mph off his fastball, and is working his slider at a higer arm angle
For those who care
If taking something off his fastball
makes it something more reliable, than I think it could be a good thing. As great as his slider is, he needs his fastball

I just wish I had
more confidence in our pitching coach (Larry) to get Marmol out of this control funk. I have been down on Rothschild since he was here with Dusty. I have just never been a big fan of him. I can’t put my finger on it, but as good as our pitchers are, I think a better pitching coach can get more out of them.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
He is overrated
I would love Leo Mazzone to be the pitching coach. Isn’t he available right now?
I would love for the Cubs to
bring in Greg Maddux. If he would ever retire (he stays in too good of shape). I assume that is why the organization is playing out the string with LR.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
That would be cool.
The Professor as a coach, perfect.
These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance"
Odd thought.
Is that a benefit to bringing him on mid season? Wouldn’t he be more likely to come to us if he retired with us? And plus, that whole presence thing.
I’ll be honest, I like the Maddux move.
These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance"

I'm all for it if Ryno turns out to be, you know, a GOOD manager!

No, but I sold him his home theater for his "hunting shed" and he's a really, raelly, really nice guy
As long as you know you aren't second....
I like nice guy baseball players. A lot. I actually listened to the Ryno HOF speech yesterday because I was feeling so great about baseball. Thome fits that bill.
These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance"
Met Ryno earlier this year down at Obrien field (one of the joys of living in peoria is Ryno manages the Cheif's)
Ryno waited in the rain for almost an hour to sign autographs for every fan that was waiting for him… that guys is pure class
That may be the best baseball story I've ever heard.
He’s great. That speech is amazing.
I remember his play at second. No one did it better defensively. Ever.

No prob
...I missed the first part. LOL. He was talking about Jim Edmonds and how he was worth the risk when we acquired him, and now he’s paying some big dividends.

Geovany Soto you're my Hero
Quick thought
Why don’t the Cubs go with the following rotation?
Sunday: Dempster
Tuesday: Marshall
Wednesday: Gallagher
Thursday: Marquis
Friday: Lilly
Saturday: Dempster
Sunday: Gallagher ?
My new life, my new world, and my beautiful daughter:
Kayla Davis: Due date (8-11-08)!
I think Marshall pitched Thursday...
so tuesday would be his next start…

OK, to clear the air .. to prove there's no racism here ..

Here’s a pretty black girl. Let’s assume she’s a Sox fan.
I rest my case.
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
Good morning from Okinawa
Looks like you guys had another great win, huh?

Yes and Dome was in the middle of it
Getting on base, driving in a run, scoring—also, he made at least one great diving catch early in the game.
But Jedmonds and Aramis were the Men of the Match.

Sound like that's the job as a lead-off hitter
His OBP at Wrigley is pretty high, right? Need to roll on road as well.
BTW Aramis should wear these authentic shirt from ARAMIS in Japan...

Anyone know the results of the poll on WGN?
regarding whether people watch the White Sox when the Cubs aren’t playing?
I missed it.
"Hey-Hey! Home Run! Attaboy Ronnie!" ~ Jack Brickhouse
Don't remember the exact #s
but the majority said they didn’t watch Sox at all
We never give up -- Aramis Ramirez
i think combined it was around 60 percent
dont watch them or only when/if they play STL.
I think everyone understands it is mostly a sox thing to cheer against the other team in town. I could care less if the sox win or lose unless they play the cubs.

78%
but the question was would they ROOT for the Sox if they were not playing the Cubs
The Combined no and only if they played St. Louis was 78% ( 56% said never
22% said only against the Cardinals) I have no cell so I could not vote but I would
have been one of the 56%
