IMO

Don’t expect much to happen until each team goes once through the lineup.

Chalk this up

Chalk this up for Steve Stone so far. He said last year he thought Marshall would be better than Hill in the long run.

Hill isn't done forever yet

Though I agree that Marshall is the better long term pitcher.

8 innings, 87 pitches. I’ll take that tonight.

Baserunning not much better.

Marhsall’s at least got he exucse that he wasn’t sure it was fair, but Theriot should’ve been running hard regardless. That’s a really bad baserunning error.

I remember what used to infuriate me about Marshall, it was the number of pitches he would rack up. He’s already over 70 pitches in the fourth inning. He could never get out of the sixth inning. I just wish he could get the same results in fewer pitches and get deeper into the games.

Varsho the O's pitcher thought ARAM hit it harder as well

If you look at the swing the ball kinda handkuffed him so he didn’t hit it at the end of the bat.

That was out if ARAM had hit it toward the end of the bat…..

I Like Sean

But this is what we get in most of his starts.

He has a great curve ball. Doesn’t give up runs in bunches, but just keeps getting nicked a run at a time. Gives up about a hit an inning and a walk every other inning. And racks up a lot of pitches in a short amount of time. I used to cringe when Marquis and Marshall would pitch back to back because they would have trouble getting past the fifth inning (his career average is right around five inning per start.) We’d burn out the bullpen in two days and hope for a long start by the next pitcher to rest the pen.

No idea.

A bit of a long run for Theriot, but I think you’re right, that’s his ball and he gave up on it. Patterson should still make that play, though.

Agreed

A win with a AAA pitcher taking over for your ace is a bonus, so this should be about what we expected. Then again, expectations have changed lately, so I’m still expecting a 6 run inning for the Cubs.
