That's a great beer, but
it is a bit strong. You into the Belgian beers? Chimay, Duvel, etc.

never had a belgian.... I hear a lot of good things about them over on BA
"My favorite umpire is a dead one."
-Johnny Evers
They can be really, really good.
But you’ve got to like hoppy styles and most have a bit of coriander, as well. Try Duvel for the lighter style and Chimay Cinq Cents for the darker style. Both are great beers.

doesn't chimay produce
a dark smoky barley wine?
I believe so, but it'd be hard to come by in the states.

if they did,
I’ve sampled a bottle. One of our local tavern’s special ordered a case. Worst hangover I ever had. Was a nice smoky flavor though.
I've had a couple nice smoked porters recently.....

As a scotch lover,

Chimay is always a rough hangover.
it’s a completely unfiltered ale, so it can be rough the next day!

yes it was.
Looking at Chimay’s website, it was a bottle of Chimay’s Grande Reserve
Yeah, that's the "low end" of their ales.
And it’s still pretty damn good. Try the Cinq Cents.

Anyone listen to mlb radio on their mobile phone?
I just noticed that they charge you $4.99 per month even if you have a subscription on your pc? Seems like a ripoff…..
Well
Most of that money they probably have to give to your mobile provider, who has to carry the extra traffic. With the Internet to your PC, MLB doesn’t have to share the revenue with anyone since it uses the public internet.

but I don’t understand what fielding percentage is exactly. he’s @ .996

by Madison Cub Fan on Jun 25, 2008 7:27 PM CDT up reply actions
It's depending on passed balls I believe
Passed balls is what cost the fielding percentage of the pitcher to decline.
catcher stats...
have nothing to do with passed balls. Fielding percentage is putouts and assists divided by total chances (putouts, assists and errors)

ok... looking @ geo's stats

i meant as a pitcher to go 0-5, b/c it meant you pitched deep into a game and your offense did enough to get the 9 spot up 5 times

I know he’s on the DL, but how bad is the injury? more or less to make room for Ward coming back for Interleague or deserving of the DL?
sorry if this was covered earlier, been a long week working and couldnt find any good updates
they're saying just muscle spasms
but since he has a history of back issues they DL’d him to not rush it and give the roster spot back

His back is just stiff
but the stupidity that led him to bunt with 2 outs in the ninth and subsequently, and unnecessarily run into the fist baseman will never heal.

Danged Directv and the whole rain interfering with the signal…come on guys, this is the 21st century!!!
what are the chances
of any moves being made, or since Dome is day-to-day, Johnson out, etc the bench will all stay??
Slim, IMO.
Patterson and Ward were the moves.

Yesterday's game
I think we’ll benefit tonight, and tomorrow as well, by the O’s having had to go to their pen last night when it at first looked like blowout.

Exactly. They’ll be forced to enjoy the taste of bullpen stew as we’ve been forced to on many occasions this year.

he showed some pretty impressive
range on DLee’s single. The guy does have game.
But I will be happy to see him leave town.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
I hate him too.
But I wouldn’t mind having him on my team.

yeah, if he was hittin like that for the cubs I'd be cheering him on

Did you see the ump last night...
bump into Jerry Manuel? What a tool.

That was disgraceful. MLB should suspend Runge.

Manuel and Beltran both seem like laid back type. Runge totally baited them.

Wow. cool.
Although I disagree with the radio dude this morning who was saying if they won it would be the “biggest upset in sports history”
These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance"
well it would be a huge upset in terms of seeding
because they’re teh equivelant of a 15 seed in the March Basketball Tourney making it to the final game. But since they’ll have won a best of 3 series I don’t buy an “upset” in that way.

Sure. I agree with that.
I also don’t know enough about how diverse talent/resources are in college ball to know for sure…but like bigger than the Miracle on Ice or something? No way.

Lowest seed in NCAA history to win a championship
in any sport. Some women’s softball team was a low seed too, but they were years ago.

This is a tough ump for Lilly
He can’t get the high strike and he can’t get the inside corner on the lefties.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
his zone is odd....
"I've always felt that starting pitching is the most important part of the rotation." - Joe Morgan, Sunday Night Baseball 8-12-07
the only thing consistent
about it is the inconsistency. But Lilly is not getting anything high. He seems to like to throw high strikes. Too bad. He (Ted) is a big boy, he will adjust.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
None of the three "strikes"
he called on Fontenot’s 1st AB were strikes, according to Gameday.

who is wondering why Markasis is batting 2nd instead of 3rd and Mora is in the middle of the order?
