i honestly get so scared sometimes
listening to the WGN radio call… after Ron has an outburst and is silent I really, really worry he’s still there… he better stick around till we can win one for him… harry went too soon, i wish i could have heard harry callin the games this year…
now's the time Lilly.

Going into tonight...
....Lilly was hitting .217/.250/.261. You’d really like to see him hit for a little more pop, though – only one double on the season!
He's got Murton power

Anyone else sort of curious to hear Mike and Mike in the 7th?
I was listening to them this morning, and jokes aside, they showed some respect for Wrigley that was pretty cool.
These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance"
Greeny went to school at northwestern and spent a lot of time at wrigley
during those years and then covered the cubs when the score first started up. he at least gets it. :-)

He told a hilrious story today about
how Dawson got pissed a Mike North for telling a lie about him on air, and found out Greenburg was from The score and came up to him int he locker room and threatened to punch him in the face.

Just so long as they're in tune
We can forgive them for not looking like Julianne Hough.

Hey!
I thought we were only using the Hough when we were behind.
Granted, that might limit it more than …
I’m sorry, what was I saying???
well... here's my take
we really only scored when i used one pic last night… which I will be reserving for when we’re doing… the little one int he blue dress was clearly bad luck… so i think we’re ok, as long as we reserve our hough usage to the winning images
Reminds me of Kelly Pickler...

but the cubbies and beer make it alllllll good ;-)

where do i start? lying, manipulative, no ambition, no drive, kind of a slacker… personality does a lot for me… i can get any chick i want, but honestly i need them to carry on an intelligent conversation… ya know? ok maybe not any chick, but i’m not scared to talk to a girl, and i’m pretty damn engaging
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Aww. seriously, Sorry that doesn’t sound like a fun relationship AT ALL!

Of course not..
but if she looked like the Hough, I could overlook a lot of those traits.

I don't know, the lying thing might get me
Honesty’s important.
And, really, carry on an intelligent conversation? Did you listen the Hough at all?
Agreed
The lying I couldn’t live with. But she had an agenda last night. She wanted to sell her CD. Hopefully, if we dated, she would have more to offer than what she showed during the 7th inning.

He needs to get through this inning so he can bat one more time.
A home run would do wonders for his batting line.
Is it sad that I have more faith in Ted's ability to drive the ball
than I do in Matt Murton’s?
"I've always felt that starting pitching is the most important part of the rotation." - Joe Morgan, Sunday Night Baseball 8-12-07
The Cubs would use him in the right situation
Lets say probably for clinching the division :)
Probably, but correct.
I was looking at Lilly and Z on Baseball Prospectus and they are both way higher in terms of Offenseive VORP than Murton…ha ha.
These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance"
Last I looked,
Murton was -0.1 in VORP

Something like that. It was pretty bad.

VORP is positionally adjusted.
And it’s not like Murton has had a lot of opportunities.
Say it with me – sample size!
Say it again – sample size!
Say it so everybody can hear you – SAMPLE SIZE!
Can I get an amen? Amen!
I love sample size,
and I like Matt Murton, but he looks hopeless at the plate this season. I know hit consistently in the minors, but he only slugged .382
"I've always felt that starting pitching is the most important part of the rotation." - Joe Morgan, Sunday Night Baseball 8-12-07
Here's the thing.
Guys in hot streaks tend to look better, and guys in cold streaks tend to look worse. It’s a matter of selective endpoints – people tend to think the start of the season means something. It really doesn’t.
I'll keep that in mind.

Are you my ANOVA professor?
Cuz we were talking about sample size tonight…

Everybody talks about sample size.
I wish I could do an ANOVA – I can barely handle doing a linear regression, and by “doing a linear regression” I mean “letting R do a linear regression.”
I'm a journalism major, in theory.

Is 6+ innings with 4 or less runs a quality start...
... or does it have to be 3 runs or less with 6+ IP?
Wait a minute... who am I here?
3 runs makes it more of a quality start majoirty of the time
But with a decent lead, this is a quality start.
