man lilly is not that good this year

i can’t believe he was preseason our #2 starter! thank goodness for demp, but hey what i like about lilly is that despite his struggles he is a gamer and ALMOST always gives us a chance to win the game

Probably, but correct.

I was looking at Lilly and Z on Baseball Prospectus and they are both way higher in terms of Offenseive VORP than Murton…ha ha.

Murton was -0.1 in VORP

And it’s not like Murton has had a lot of opportunities.

I love sample size,

and I like Matt Murton, but he looks hopeless at the plate this season. I know hit consistently in the minors, but he only slugged .382

Here's the thing.

Guys in hot streaks tend to look better, and guys in cold streaks tend to look worse. It’s a matter of selective endpoints – people tend to think the start of the season means something. It really doesn’t.
