See the inning counts of the starters for our last 2 games
Marquis: 4 innings
Demp: 2 1/3 innings
I’m not happy about the high pitch cout, but Lou needed innings
Zambrano viciously attacked a pair of watercoolers for the crime of being within his line of vision. It was a classic battle of man versus inanimate object.
And almost giving up a dinger right there.
Gotta be his last inning.

Well, the question is if this little slump extends will this board turn into a bloody battlefield....
littered with the virtual bodies of the many factions that snipe at each other??? The Negative Nellies vs. the Optimistic vs. the Holier-Than-Thou vs. the Immature Clowns???? Could be an ugly thing…...and for full disclosure I am sure I have been in more than one of those groups…..just wish we could all get along and keep it civil and respect our unique and sometimes imperfect ways we cheer for the Cubbies.
Yeah, lighten up.
It’s all good. We’re playing without several front-line players. If you’d have told me the Cubs would be in this position at this point of the season, I’d have been happy.

One of Lou's Drawbacks
The “match-em-up” stuff is nothing but reflexive CYA managing. If it were up to me, I would let pure performance (read: stats) solely determine the lineup, and the hell with what side of the plate a player bats.

Sweep, imo...
I fully expect the Cubs to get swept tomorrow in Comiskullar.
These teams are separated by a game or two in the history of this series, so its about right.
The entire team is in a funk, and undergoing myriad injuries, which as we all see, puts us at a major talent disadvantage on the roster.
We still are in first place, but with a couple more sweeps in short order will allow both the Cardinals and Brew to catch us.
Both the Twins and Royals being hot is a huge help to Cubs fans right now

Two very good teams that play great in their own parks.
True, that
Seems to be a common theme in baseball this season.
At least the Cubs aren’t going to lose the season series to the Sox, the way the Cards are to the Royals.
And think of it this way: About 3-4 more feet, and Lee hits two homers and the Cubs win easily. Who says baseball isn’t a game of inches?

One of the greatest inventions of the century. I can record a game while working, then watch it after finding out what happened – and on a day like today all I have to do is press “Clear” and it’s gone.
Checked the box score and it looks like ARam and Soto didn’t have the best of days, what with all those runners left on base. I tend to agree with other posters who have said all the interleague stuff does is create unnecessary controversy and gets players too keyed up. Maybe this was the case with ARam and Soto – couldn’t concentrate effectively given the Crosstown Classic hysteria.
Can’t say I feel good about tomorrow night’s game either, but I’d love to be proven wrong. Just keep hoping the Royals and Twins can help out.
Eat More Katsui
it was amazing that ARam
flied out to right three times when it was meaningless (a third out twice with two men on), but when that same at bat (a deep fly to right) would have scored the tying run int he 9th, he hits a grounder. In fact it looked to me like all three pitches to ARam in the 9th were not very good, like they were pitching around him. Was he pressing on the road? He may have been…
ARam will still be more clutch than press and not deliver. He is a stud. Let’s get him back in the cleanup spot.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
Before you press Clear..
check out Crede’s play. That was the play of the game.
