Sweep, imo...

I fully expect the Cubs to get swept tomorrow in Comiskullar.

These teams are separated by a game or two in the history of this series, so its about right.

The entire team is in a funk, and undergoing myriad injuries, which as we all see, puts us at a major talent disadvantage on the roster.

We still are in first place, but with a couple more sweeps in short order will allow both the Cardinals and Brew to catch us.

Both the Twins and Royals being hot is a huge help to Cubs fans right now

If I were a Cub fan, I'd be worried about the Cubs,

not the Twins and Royals.

Pitching, defense, health.

Relax, E

The doom-and-gloomers aren’t going to ruin this summer for me. One game at a time, eh?

by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 28, 2008 6:12 PM CDT up reply actions

Sure...

One game at a time it is.

Two very good teams that play great in their own parks.

by The E-Man on Jun 28, 2008 6:14 PM CDT reply actions

True, that

Seems to be a common theme in baseball this season.

At least the Cubs aren’t going to lose the season series to the Sox, the way the Cards are to the Royals.

And think of it this way: About 3-4 more feet, and Lee hits two homers and the Cubs win easily. Who says baseball isn’t a game of inches?

God, this has been a fun season so far.

Unbelievable!

I was thrilled to be @ Wrigley twice for last weekend, and see the only “W” against the O’s. Lucky!

Perhaps DLee can keep it going tomorrow. Man, I hope he ends the GIDP streak!

by The E-Man on Jun 28, 2008 6:18 PM CDT up reply actions

He did end it today, no?

5-for-5?

Lucky you, seeing three victories in a row. I’ve got tickets for all four games in Milwaukee at the end of July. Looks like that’s going to be a bigger series than it appeared to be a month ago.

Hang in there. The best is yet to come.

I'll be @ one of those games. It'll be my first game of the year!!!!

TiVo

One of the greatest inventions of the century. I can record a game while working, then watch it after finding out what happened – and on a day like today all I have to do is press “Clear” and it’s gone.

Checked the box score and it looks like ARam and Soto didn’t have the best of days, what with all those runners left on base. I tend to agree with other posters who have said all the interleague stuff does is create unnecessary controversy and gets players too keyed up. Maybe this was the case with ARam and Soto – couldn’t concentrate effectively given the Crosstown Classic hysteria.

Can’t say I feel good about tomorrow night’s game either, but I’d love to be proven wrong. Just keep hoping the Royals and Twins can help out.

it was amazing that ARam

flied out to right three times when it was meaningless (a third out twice with two men on), but when that same at bat (a deep fly to right) would have scored the tying run int he 9th, he hits a grounder. In fact it looked to me like all three pitches to ARam in the 9th were not very good, like they were pitching around him. Was he pressing on the road? He may have been…

ARam will still be more clutch than press and not deliver. He is a stud. Let’s get him back in the cleanup spot.

THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!

Before you press Clear..

check out Crede’s play. That was the play of the game.
