"White Sox Baseball has a new sound"

Yes I am going to bash on Steve Stone again.  I changed my sig a while back because I was catching flack but need to explode once in a while.

Steve’s Blog

  • Steve - Doesn’t have any sense of grammar
  • Steve - Doesn’t know how to press the enter key on his keyboard.  Unfortunately my eyes are not steady enough to read 40 lines of information without any breaks.

While listening to The Score at work, (1000am doesn’t come in as well) I have to hear this promo over and over again.  It goes something like this:

-Steve "He has already grounded into 8 double plays this season and a slider away makes it his 9th"

-Farmer  "Groundball left side, 6 to 4 to 3, You were saying?"

I’m sorry for this rant, but just like my rants on Pat Hughes for his over excitement of "A line drive down the left field liiiiiiiiinnnnnnneeeeee........FOUL!" Just every once in a while I need to let it out.

Dear Steve

You are an arrogant butt head.  Stop talking about how you would never want a GM job because frankly I doubt you were ever offered it.  I cannot stand when you talk about how so and so doesn’t pick up the check or how you are proud of your 2004 bashing of the Cubs.  There’s a reason why former local jerks Kent Mercker and Todd Walker went off on you, the same reason I am, it was building up.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Wow.

Why anguish over White Sox announcers? I suggest not listening.

And do you really think Stone writes his blog? I’d guess he dictates it to an intern. Even if you don’t like the tandem of Farmer/Stone….they are light years better than the utter garbage in San Diego, with the TV tandem of Matt (I’m too cool for the room) Vasgergian and Mark (I really should be on a Joliet radio station) Grant.

"I say we let him go!"

Nanika Ga Okoru!

Oh, and remember, folks: Alfonso Soriano is NOT batting leadoff. He's batting first.

I've read that twice and still have no idea what you're saying
All I’ve been able to parse is:
  • Steve Stone writes difficult to read blog entries (mmm irony)
  • Steve Stone sometimes guesses which is annoying because he is sometimes wrong or something and the Score plays a clip of him guessing all the time and that’s annoying and you wish Farner would call out Stone on being wrong sometimes
  • Steve Stone is a jerk because he says he doesn’t want a GM job that no one is offering him anyway

You’re all over the map. I can’t track you.

Stone

Steve Stone is a self-professed computer hater. I’m surprised he’d even try to blog.

I did find it funny that I can hear his voice saying all that stuff in one breath just reading his blog.

http://www.stevestone.com/stevesPitch.html

Best thing about Stone is that he doesn’t assume I’m an idiot. He doesn’t dumb it down too far for the average fan. Makes a long baseball game easier to listen to.

As far as Pat… I’ll take some verbal oddness for the professional way he calls a game.

Definition of irony

Starting a post out griping about someone else’s unreadable material….and then I have no idea what the rest of it was. Sorry, reading that made me lose my train of thought.

Cubs fans shall never obsess with anything associated

with Chicago’s junior circuit representative, Hammer. Dude, we all know he’s an arrogant ass but that’s part of what made him popular on the North side. He knows his shit pure and simple.

But since he’s no longer associated with the Cubs I can’t tell if his arrogance has hit yet another level.

Let’s face it anyone from another team’s fan base can rip on Ronny any day of the week because he’s not a real color guy. But why we love him (I’m hoping we all do) is because no one wears their heart on their sleave like Ronny does.

Pat is great. Think of how he has to think on the fly with Ronny in the booth with him, how smooth he is and how the humor is intermixed on every broadcast.

He was definitely a snarky fellow ..

.. but like you said, blackhawk24, the man knew his stuff when he pontificated ..

And his classic remark as the 04 Cubs let their wild card dream slip away that last agonized week about who the Cubs should look at in the mirror should be etched in marble on the gravestone capping the remains of the day. Truer words were indeed never spoken. The Cubs shot themselves in the foot that last week .. and Dustyball was only a secondary issue by that point ..

Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!

Coincidence?

I sent Stone 2 emails about using paragraphs, and he has em now.

Probably not

He knows he’s being read, and if the critique is constructive, it would make sense for him to accept it; good job.
