Hey guys...
I’m sitting on hold with Comcast right now… CSN+ not working in Peoria… again… I’m so mad… 20 min on hold so far
i've been staying away on purpose
i got a little frustrated last time i was in here… went out and bought team fortress 2… much stress alleviated… better now
oh, that seriously sucks. :(
You haven’t missed much yet.

I am not getting the HD feed on the West Coast either
but I’d still rather watch Len & Bob the old way than watch the Giants broadcasters in HD. I am loyal to my Cubs and the Cubs’ broadcast!
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
But it does piss me off that DirecTV is not
picking up the CSN+ feed. They have picked up the HD feed from CSN+ in the past.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
much like west coast crowds...
it arrived late

Can anyone tell us hicks
Who live south of I-80 what is going on?
And how many CLTV games are left?
Think of how stupid the average person is, and remember, half of them are stupider than that!
What gives?
I’m in Chicago and I’m getting the San Francisco call on the HD channel and Len and Bob on the SD channel. I’m watching the HD because I’ve become spoiled and the announcers are OK.
Anybody have any ideas?
No HD for CSN on DirecTV it appears tonight.
Same problem here in LA. I refuse to watch the SF broadcast.

I’ve got the San Fran HD feed on DirecTV but I don’t see any SD channel with Len and Bob.

You know that scene in Fatal Attraction
When Glenn Close rises up out of the bathtub and Michael Douglas has to shoot her a few times to make sure she is dead?
That’s what it is going to take. I’m afraid this weekend’s series is going to be the bunny boiling for us.

Commencement Speaker Richard “Da Mare” Daley
Journalism Convocation Speaker Bill Emmott (Editor Emeritus, The Economist)
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
lol
He started out well. “A lot of people tell you this country’s best days are behind it. Well don’t listen to them.” But then he went off the rails, talking about a couple citizens in Chicago who did great things but it didn’t have much to do with his original point. He talked a lot about himself and his accomplishments with the public schools. Then he just basically launched into a marketing schpiel as if he was asked, “Why should Chicago go after the Olympics?” instead of, “What is your advice to us graduates?” On top of that, the man confused subject-verb agreement the entire day – “Our children is the future” – and mispronounced words and got other facts wrong (“I’m happy to be here for the 105th Commencement” .... it was the 150th). A lot of us were pretty let down.
Emmott, however, was quite enjoyable. He’s British, so getting to hear that accent and humor is always a plus, and he had a lot of clever things to say, along with good optimism about the future of journalism.
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager

And DeRosa
didn’t stop at 3rd. Again only the computer here but I’ve been complaining about baserunning so I have to give credit to DeRo for scoring from 1st.
I'm back...
I see my absence did the Cubs well. Hopefully might return won’t screw things up—and my Internet won’t go down again.

oh well
at least they scored 2. Haha, bout time…
so i'll be honest w/ all of you
this is the first game i’ve watched since game two of the baltimore series… i needed a break… i knew what was going on, didn’t tune in for the pitch of the sox games (mostly because of meetings… i have a job afterall) however it looks like we both needed a break from each other… it’s good to see them back in form again

Did DeRo really score from first on a double?
We (or at least Lou) know that DeRo is too slow to bat near the top of the order.

A's pitchers tend to be overrated
The only SP’s that are solid are Hudson and Haren. After that the rest pitiful/injured. Blanton is also overrated (and yes BlueMike, so it Harden).
B/c of the A's park
(the name of which i can’t remember) or just b/c they’re the A’s?

A's park
I went to the A’s vs Redsox in 2003. Man, Tejada from the A’s owned the Redsox pitching and haha, I really enjoyed booing Nomar :)
But yes, that park is freekin huge! I guess you can say it is as bad as PETCO Park.
thought thats where you were going

Are you going to trust numbers, or the wisdom and experience of Joe Morgan???
True story
Some player told Joe Morgan he grew up watching the BRM, and Morgan said so on the broadcast
Baseball this Morning did the math … the kid would have barely been born at the end of the BRM days … he was blowing smoke and Morgan didn’t even know it

I have to say (slightly off topic)
as a pacific northwest guy these days, it’s funny to see Riggelman as manager of the Mariners. I remember him all too well in cubbie blue…
No odder
than seeing Henry Cotto, Phil Bradley or Cuffs playing for the M’s.

Dragon, maybe you can answer this...
is it bad luck, or dishonorable, or even against Japanese stereotypes for Kosuke to be wearing “Fukudome” on his jersey instead of the more standardized “Kosuke,” or is that just an American misconception?
That normal to wear family name
Ichiro is just the special and very unique case….
Americans and other foreign players in Japan sometimes wear his first name instaed of family name in NPB, just as Alex Ochoa wears “ALEX”

the passion and the fire
aaron rowand… every sox fan EVER who called into the score last year said they wanted Rowand back because he “had the passion and the fire” (in a THICK chicago accent, of course) and those were the only reasons they wanted him
Wow, the Brewers are losing to the D Backs
