Fontenot

Soriano
Theriot.

So, Fonty gets on base, Soriano goes yard, and Woody takes the save? Or maybe Marmol.

If we only take

three of four, it’s not exactly a streak. But it’s over .500 baseball on the road, which is what we’re looking for, and it’s another series win, which we’re looking for. I don’t care if our 100 wins are all two in a row, lose one, win three, lose one, win five, lose two. The streak is nice. The post-season is required.

No whining or complaining tonight

I hate the term “vintage Maddux,” but that’s exactly what the Cubs saw. That might be the best game I’ve seen him pitch in a long time. It also was “vintage Hoffman” in the ninth.

Lilly pitched a great game and did exactly what was asked—a nice, long outing.

It was a good winning streak. Time to start another one tomorrow.
