The rotation issues are clearly showing tonight ..
we got nickel and dimed by nibbling on Gallegher and Hart .. the thread on the Cubs rotation earlier today was, I think, one of the best on BCB this season.
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
I think the lack of hitting might have been a wee bit more to do with tonight

News flash
Cubs pitchers gave up three runs. That isn’t bad.
And other tems are allowed to have good pitching, too.

true .. but ..
we didn’t respond .. and Hart showed why he shouldn’t have started in the AZ series
Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
Maybe the Cubs couldn't respond
because the Dodgers pitcher was too good. Remember, he stifled the Cubs last week, too.

He tried to turn the double play
with no one on. Good thought with this umpiring crew

by californiachicagoan on Jun 7, 2008 12:08 AM CDT up reply actions
He wasn't assuming the catch was called.
Sorta like how catchers throw to first on a dropped third strike.
Yeah but
he had a 50/50 shot the umps would have awarded two outs anyways

Kuroda has been excellent tonight. Can’t do much about that.
by Not Bruce Froemming on Jun 7, 2008 12:12 AM CDT up reply actions

is a big-league pitcher. A pretty good one at that.

it doesn’t bother me. Just got beat by a better team tonight.
The games where junk pitchers kill you, or you lose because you screw up on the bases or in the field … those stink.

pitching escaped from some jams, but walked too many.

I remember going to an Italian restauraunt in Japan...
...and one of my friends ended up with a soft-boiled egg right on top of his spaghetti. The look on his face was priceless.
When we ordered curry, you could get a raw egg on the side as a garnish. It’d cook as you stir it in. That was great. Now I’m making myself hungry.

Most of the time we went either for curry or to a Korean place...
...that served the food in cast iron bowls – really can’t remember what it’s called, or to the on-base soba shop. For special occasions there was a wonderful place that brought out hibachi to the tables. I don’t think the Italina restauraunt was anything special.

Nope.
Far less soupy. You’d add your own rice and vegetables and stir it, and it would cook right there on the spot.
They also served kimchee – I’ve seen kimchee in the local grocery store just recently, and been tempted, but I know full well my wife won’t eat it, and I’m afraid of being stuck eating the whole jar by myself.
Now that I look at it again...
...it seems a lot more familiar. But still, the place I ate at (and now I can’t remember the name, augh) was less soupy than that.
Can't find the picture a-looked-like
but it sounds delicious….
