That was masterful. Marquis was also pretty nice tonight. I don’t like giving this game to them and then saying we would have won if Sori and Aram were there. I agree that Fontenot, Cedeno, and Marquis is similar to what the Giants were throwing out there in the 7th, 8th, and 9th spots, but we are a 50 win team at the half-way mark. We have to find ways to win when the big boys are not there.
We need to give Jimmy a game or two to sit. When we all thought he would be a cancer to this line-up, he has been playing hurt because we had no other options, and he has earned my respect. Just a thought.

i know he was brutal in the OF at the Cell
but i think eric could be okay in the OF if he got consistent playing time. going back and forth between the bench, OF & IF can’t be easy on a guy nervous to make a good impression already.

No, it's not easy, but he's really not an OF...
Like Badger says below, 2B would be much better for him.

Game Management
Lou outmanaged himself again tonight.
Batting The Riot in the 7th was not very smart. Because he did that he burned a pinch hitter on an already short bench and needed to use another one the very next inning for the pitcher. There is no way Geo scores on a double and it is questionable if he can score from second on a single. If he does not pinch hit the Riot in the 7th, he can use him in the 8th or if Cedano would have gotten a hit he could have used the Riot in the 7th. He needed to preserve EPat for the 9th Inning for pinch running duties. He need to think about what was potentially coming up in the 8th and 9th inning when making these decisions with a short bench
Just poor game management in that situation

but if the RIot gets a hit or Fontenot strokes a double…we would be screaming that Soto either got thrown out at home or had to stop at third…
