Pitching is good
Marquis is getting it done – time for the offense to show up. But Cain is a good one. He’s thrown 68 pitches already, so maybe they should work some counts and try to get to the bullpen.

Not quite Aaron Cook territory (he through a 79-pitch CG shutout a week ago), but still pretty good.

Cain won't be out again.
It’s time to hold ‘em, and then get some runs off the bullpen. Got the the top of the order coming up in the 8th.

Pitching is all the Giants have. If they let him go too far, management will hear about it.

Right now
I’m loving the pitch count system. In the old days, say 5 years ago, there’s no way Cain would have been taken out after 7. A ridiculous theory, in my book, but today it worked in our favor.
"Hey hey, kiss it goodbye! That one's in Milwaukee! Man oh man did he hit it. Isn't that something?" - Lou Boudreau, May 17, 1979
I'm waiting for this theory
to get taken up in football. Yes – we’d like to have Peyton Manning available for OT, but you see, he’s already thrown 40 passes today, so he’s finished and we’re bringing in the second stringer.

Doesn’t exactly look like murderer’s row, by the way.
Let’s just hope Wood can keep the ball in the strike zone. I’m sure the word on him around the league is to make him throw strikes.

indeed
They’re paying Blanco $3 mln a year and he never plays. I’d get rid of him and bring up whoever we have in AAA – he can play once every 2 weeks for the minimum salary. And can probably hit as well and run a lot better than Blanco.
"Hey hey, kiss it goodbye! That one's in Milwaukee! Man oh man did he hit it. Isn't that something?" - Lou Boudreau, May 17, 1979
