OT: Is "Al" A Household Name Where You Live?

Kinda like Bono. Just one name, and everyone I know well knows who I’m referring too.

I ended up telling him all about bcb and al. he said he was going to check out the site after work tonight.

my friends and family dont know Al by name… just that BCB is that website Im addicted to.

Al, that guy who got us tickets and invited her back because she’s good luck.

I actually heard of Al from his work a friend used to work for channel 7.

But Al is a well known person in the baseball blog world. Not in the world world but in the blog world if that makes sense.

Who’s this “Al” you speak of?

when he gets famous will he sign autographs for us bloggers?

And here I’ve only met Kinky Reggae (Adam) and his dad… not the rest of the family.

If y’all really want autographs I’ll do ‘em, but be warned it may reduce the value of whatever I sign. :)

mentioned at least once a week in my household. i.e. “Looks like Al says the wind should be blowing out today” or “According to Al this batter is 0-6 against this pitcher…”

Anyway, my girlfriend and my daughter are both now acquainted with far LF bleachers. Al and his friends (I usually talk to Jeff and Dave) are always welcoming. I goto 4-5 games a year, and its nice to get the last minutes update before the game from “Al’s crew” after the long commute from Rockford.

but BCB is just referred to as “the blog.”

As in “Did you see the blog today? Al thought of yet another Marquis-related pun”

...my wife has become painfully aware that I’ve been spending a ridiculous amount of time on “some Cubs blog,” but she’s not really familiar with all the details yet. To be honest, I used to log on only here at work, but I knew my BCB addiction had taken a turn for the worse when I started jumping on at home as well. It’s kinda like going from cocaine to crack – once you pass that point, you’re gone.

My girlfriend has met Al and she specifically knows him as “Al; the guy who runs my favorite website”

Literally, its an ongoing thing, thats what Al and more often BCB is referred to.

But remember, La Preferida backwards is Adireferp Al. ;-) I thought of Al (La backwards) when I saw this. He might remember it.
