OT: Is "Al" A Household Name Where You Live?
Okay so I had to post this as I thought a while about it yesterday after I told my wife I still owed Chad (aka Les Lancaster) money for shipping the BCB shirts.
I believe I phrased it, "I still have to get the money to that guy from Al's website for shipping those shirts". So I got to thinking about how many others here have family or friends that know who "Al" is because of how much of our lives this website consumes.
Now my father already knew Al from many years in the bleachers, however I came to know Al here at BCB. Often times, rather than refer to BleeCubbieBlue as just that, I call it "Al's website".
So who knows Al among my family and friends? Here's my list:
Mother: assisted with the shirt ordering
Father: bleacher regular
Wife: endures my many hours online typing to you wonderful people
Friend#1: Used to be here more often, not as much now
Probably everyone at work: observing all the time I spend in here as well
How bout you all?

Yep - He's just Al.

my wife knows him as
Al, that guy who got us tickets and invited her back because she’s good luck.

Al
I actually heard of Al from his work a friend used to work for channel 7.
But Al is a well known person in the baseball blog world. Not in the world world but in the blog world if that makes sense.
Go Cubs
Yes.
My wife knows him as “Al, the guy who runs that Cubs site that keeps me away from paying attention to her”
Can't wait for the Cubs in '08!!!
wonder
when he gets famous will he sign autographs for us bloggers?
Dear SBnation, We need our own server here at BCB seeing how its became very slow due to enormous amounts of traffic. P.S. Impeach Bud Selig!!!
Gee.
And here I’ve only met Kinky Reggae (Adam) and his dad… not the rest of the family.
If y’all really want autographs I’ll do ‘em, but be warned it may reduce the value of whatever I sign. :)

Dive
AL, I was hoping I would see you dive head first over the railing to catch the Ramirez home run, kind of like this guy:
That would have been a LONG dive!!

Well...
for starters…you can’t have one until you’re smart enough to not post on a Cubs Fan Blog with a dipstick-avatar like yours.
As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

are you trying for positive trolling or are you a scarred Cubs fan or are you an obvious Cubs fans or are you a….well anyways…Im confused why you would use a negative toned pic?

Without a doubt "Al" is
mentioned at least once a week in my household. i.e. “Looks like Al says the wind should be blowing out today” or “According to Al this batter is 0-6 against this pitcher…”
Anyway, my girlfriend and my daughter are both now acquainted with far LF bleachers. Al and his friends (I usually talk to Jeff and Dave) are always welcoming. I goto 4-5 games a year, and its nice to get the last minutes update before the game from “Al’s crew” after the long commute from Rockford.
Not only is Al the default "Al"...
but BCB is just referred to as “the blog.”
As in “Did you see the blog today? Al thought of yet another Marquis-related pun”
Ran out of 'em today, unfortunately.

To answer your question...
...my wife has become painfully aware that I’ve been spending a ridiculous amount of time on “some Cubs blog,” but she’s not really familiar with all the details yet. To be honest, I used to log on only here at work, but I knew my BCB addiction had taken a turn for the worse when I started jumping on at home as well. It’s kinda like going from cocaine to crack – once you pass that point, you’re gone.
Nanika Ga Okoru!
So BCB at home
is the “crack”? I am in trouble! Crack is so good though huh?
Calm down.

Funny post
My girlfriend has met Al and she specifically knows him as “Al; the guy who runs my favorite website”
Literally, its an ongoing thing, thats what Al and more often BCB is referred to.

No, my wife and Little Yankee don't know Al by name.
But remember, La Preferida backwards is Adireferp Al. ;-) I thought of Al (La backwards) when I saw this. He might remember it.
Why, yes, of course it is!
