Chicago Cemetery Creating Final Resting Place For Cub Fans

Bohemian National Cemetary in Chicago is going to build a wall with ivy, and put urns with remains of Cub fans in each of 280 "eternal skyboxes" placed in the wall. They are also considering piping in Cubs games on radio (for the visitors I assume). I don't know if I'd be willing to go for this, but does anybody else have any thoughts on doing this? Cost would be about $5,000. I can't figure out how to add the link, so it is under Here's the link in "Read Related" below.

Pretty disturbing to me

Sorry but god willing if I were to visit my deceased family I’m not thinking about The Cubs…I’m thinking about them.

I get the idea that for many of us The Cubs are one of the most important part of our lives but that’s going just a little too far.

the idea of being burried by an ivy

covered wall is not all that bad. the games being piped in is a little much though. For $5000, it doesn’t seem a whole lot more expensive than a regular plot, but I haven’t shopped burial plots much, lol. I would probably be more inclined to have a tombstone with a brick pattern cut into it that ivy could be grown on.

its no deal....

unless my remains get to sit in a easy chair with my favorite brew next to me and the games on cable in front of my remains… ;) Otherwise just scatter my remains at Wrigley.. :)

Seriously I guess if you love the Cubs this would be cool. I think I’d rather have a headstone with the Cubs insignia on it. :)

Sign me up...

(hopefully not for another forty years or so)...but I can’t think of a cooler way to be remembered. As for piping in Cubs games on the radio; why not?
Everybody has their own views and ideas about this kind of thing but, personally, I love the idea that a cemetery doesn’t have to be a dour kind of place.

I don't know how to feel about this

On the one hand, it kind of makes us Cub fans look a litle crazy. On the other hand, I’ve spent nearly $200 so far this season on caps alone, so…

I don’t know if I’d ask my family to do this for me, but overall it’s harmless and I’d prefer people remember me for who and what I loved and not how I died.

I wonder if you’d get fans hanging around in the mausoleum to listen to the end of the game.
