Question about MLB.TV
Al mentioned that tomorrow's game will be broadcast on MLB.TV, but in my experience most Saturdays even MLB.TV games have been blacked out. Why is tomorrow's game an exception? Because it starts a few hours earlier than the FOX broadcast? Or have they lifted this ridiculous blackout rule all of a sudden? (I doubt the last is true)
Sorry if I'm asking a question everyone already knows the answer to, but I'm really really (REALLY) worried that I'll have to listen to Harden's debut. No offense to the WGN crew, but I want to see this fella's stuff.
Second set of potentially dumb Qs: If it's true that the game is blacked out, would sports pubs with all the requisite MLB packages be showing the game? And if so, any other Portlanders (OR) recommend a Cubs-friendly, smoke-free venue to watch?
Thanks all. Go Cubbies.

Same question.
I usually get the same results so I’m in the same boat. I gotta see Harden pitch!!

MLB.TV subscribers will be able to see this game.
Only EI is blacked out.

Pretty sure the non-blackout of early games on MLB.TV is new...
...starting either last year or this year, I think. At least, I don’t recall being able to watch early Saturday games prior to that.
FOX’s window extends from 3:55pm to 7pm. As long as a game starts early enough to not overlap that window (1pm or before), you can get it on MLB.TV. Not sure why the same rules don’t apply to Extra Innings… where all games are blacked out until 7pm. Since that’s the case with EI, you’d be out of luck at a sports bar.

Makes Sense
from MLB’s greedy perspective. If you want to watch an early MLB game then you have to pay us directly for the privilege.

blackouts
Of course the territorial blackout thing still applies if you are in the Cubs market.

Yep
MLB pretty much owns me, as I already subscribe to EI, but had to plop down a $20/mo subscription today probably just to have this game. Yeah, sucks, but I don’t want to miss Harden’s debut.
