What would you like today? I'll have another heart attack please.

The 2008 Cubs with 20 wins over .500 have certainly had their memorable games this year so far.  I think of this season in a sense is an extension of the 2007 season.  For example The Cubs found themselves in many predicaments like today's game.  Three games that come to mind is the one against The Brewers (Ramirez HR off Cordero in the 9th) the against The Reds (DeRosa's 5 hit game) or against The Phillies (a wild-pitch put The Cubs in first place for first time that year).  With those amazing wins The Cubs also lost a handful which are more forgettable because who wants to remember a bad loss?

This year it seems as though The Cubs have put themselves back into this sort of situation more often.  Twice this week we've had late inning hits to win the game.

My point however is: is a win just a win?  How does this fantastic team get away from having to make heroics and not cause the "heart attack" feeling every game.  When September and hopefully October comes we're playing against better teams.  We're playing against teams that have a bullpen that won't let Ramirez hit that walkoff homer.  The teams will have a defense that won't let that single dribble to the outfield for a walkoff win.  So what does this team have to do from a management and team perspective to perhaps play a better game?

This isn't a rant on complaining about the team.  I mean we're in first and have a great record.  It's just a perspective from a fan on how these games seem to end more often than not. But on the other side, would you rather have a team like this one who seems to have a storied game every day?
