South Shore to Cubs game?
Hi folks,
My mom and I (38 years old) have spent our lives as Cubs fans. I now live in Florida while my mom is up in Chesterton, Indiana. I used to take the South Shore to all the Cubs game I went to. She just told me she wants to go to a game her self and is asking me directions. It sounds good, but can somebody check out this article and make they have the directions right so I can pass them on to her. She is a nice "litlle old lady" at 63 so I really don't want to screw anything up. I know the Randolph exit is right, but it is getting on the L that I'm worried about. Thanks in advance.
Whew, I'm glad the Cubs pulled that one out today!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also up here in Chesterton
and I’ve done the South Shore to Red line to Wrigley trek.
You leave Millennium Station (Randolph St) and walk SW to State/Lake stop and get on the Red line.
Use the Trip Planner to get the train times.
The weather at Wrigley Field may change in an instant, but Aramis Ramirez is always steady in the clutch. - Associated Press (7/11/08)

Updated info
Some information has changed since the newspaper story appeared in 2003.
The State and Washington Red Line Subway station, which is the one in front of Macy’s (formerly Marshall Fields) is currently closed for construction. You need to go to the State and Lake Red Line Subway station which is on State between Randolph and Lake. From South Shore’s Millennium Station (formerly Randolph Street Station), head west on Randolph to State (crossing Michigan Avenue and Wabash), then turn north until you find a Red Line subway entrance near the Chicago Theater (and across the street from where Al Yellon works at ABC7 Chicago) .
The fare for a one day pass is now $5, not the $3 mentioned in the story. Unless she plans to make more than two trips in 24 hours, she should just buy a transit card with $4 on it which will be good for the trip to Addison and the return trip to State and Lake.

Thanks a ton!
I really appreciate it and I am sure she will too. I’m just sad I can’t make the trip and go myself. Taking the train is the only way to go as far as I’m concerned since it means a lot less responsibility. So many good times going up in the City…
Yeah, ballstitch, it usually runs on time. Just don’t miss the last train of the night and get stranded.
