This just in...Brewers lose, Cardinals choke worse than the Cubs almost choked!

Brewers lose to Cinci, 8-2...Cards had leads of 5-0, 8-1, and 10-2, with that last being in the eighth.  They give up 2 in the 8th, then, with one out in the 9th, give up 4 more--tie game!

Cards score 1 in the 10th, then after a base hit, a pitching change, and a popup, Jason Michaels, hitting .234, hits a 2-run home run to win it for the Pirates!

Cubs are 5.5 games up!!

And I thoughts the Cubs game was nuts!!

Wow, I was following both games and they both had the carpet pulled out from under them.

What a weird day in the NL central.

Beat me to it...

I was paying attention to the Cardinals on espn realtime…. it was VERY similar to the Cubs game except the Pirates came back.

What a day is right….. now hopefully the Cubs sweep tomorrow and the Pirates and Reds can get the job done. You can never have too big of a cushion going into the All-Star break.

DEROSA: How did it feel when you're sitting in Baton Rouge and it came across the ticker that Mark DeRosa had just signed to play second base with the Chicago Cubs.

THERIOT: In all honestly, when I saw it, I really felt like punching you right in the mouth and or breaking your leg.

I watched Gagme and Mota give up more runs....

The Cardinals just imploded EVEN after taking an 11 – 10 lead in the tenth, gave up a two run homer in the bottom of the 10th to lose it.

So, let me get this straight. The clubs with the best records in the NL need bullpens? Wow.

funny huh

To be honest, some of the worse teams in MLB have better pens than the Cubs and Cards.

The only thing scary about those teams

is their idiot fans.

We have the largest division lead in the majors...

...and we just beat the Cards 2 of 3 (should have been a sweep). We will see where the Brewers are in a few weeks.

Just need to keep winning 2 of 3, avoid long losing streaks. Neither of those team scare me. Now, the AL is another story…

When my last remains go flying over the left field wall I'll bid the bleacher bums adieu,
And I will come to my final resting place, out on Waveland Avenue.

10-4

was the score in the 8th, not 10-2. Either way, pretty epic collapse – on tap with the Rockies collapse at Wrigley in late May.
