Well, the Cubs catcher...
Didn’t have a good day. 0-2 and one stolen base against.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and remember, half of them are stupider than that!
2 stolen bases
One was a HUGE jump off Sheets, one Utley was late covering second.

I would of liked to see a bit more from Dome/Soto.
But Big Z looked like a stud and we now only have 3 players left to worry about injuries.

Z would have had that dude.
So would have Soto.

What he said roughly was;
- Great atmosphere, great players around
- Bad result, as I am not very good recently
- my first hit in ASG should be next year, want to try all my best to be selected again
- All of my effort in the rest of this year is dedicated to Cubs win.

Charles Comiskey was a horrible human being.
I’m just utterly disgusted by how he treated his players – and after he was a player himself!
Question
How does it work with owners getting inducted into the Hall? Do they have to wait a certain number of years after they have sold the team before going in? Doesn’t seem too fair if that is required as I would imagine a lot of owners die while still owning the team.
Don't know what the rules are on that off the top of my head.
I do know that owners are voted on by the Veterans Committee, not the BBWA.
he did say that
ugh…just amazing the guy was just a hothead who talked sh** – oh, but he’s synonymous with “YANKEES”
"I'll play any day. I don't care if I'm 0-for-30, playing baseball is my PASSION. I'll go out and play." - Geo Soto
Steinbrenner was a great owner.
That doesn’t make him a good person, or even necessarily good for baseball. But he has left his mark all over baseball, and the sport would be very, very different without him. That’s my standard for non-players to get into the Hall of Fame.
"Ken Phelps, Ken Phelps, everybody wanted Ken Phelps".
:)
"Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball." - Jacque Barzun
He was good for the Yankees...no doubt...
However, I’m not sure I can go as far as that he was good for baseball…
And also, he is a really generous human being…he has left his mark all over Tampa with his charitable work.
So overall, HOF material.

the Allston/Brighton area has really good bars,
if you like beer (not bud light, coors or corona) this place called the publick house in brighton is really good, good Mac and Cheese

I like the way you think. "giggles evilly"

It would accomplish the first part of that phrase.

Ludwick vs Rivera...not really what I wanted here...

Good player though,
been watching him this season, and really like his approach and attitude.

He's had a rough time
I think it’s pretty awesome he made it to the AS game.

Nationals had to send someone.
That’s a faulty argument. We can’t help we’ve got the bar-none worst team in the majors.
"This is the kind of thing … that makes you want to see the Chicago Cubs team lose." Marty Brennaman
I'd take the Mariners over the Nationals any day.
The Mariners at least have some pitching and Ichiro.
"This is the kind of thing … that makes you want to see the Chicago Cubs team lose." Marty Brennaman
That was stupid to run
Evey Hammond: Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici. V: By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
Mariano Rivera just showed yet another example why he will go down as the greatest closer all-time in major league baseball. In his late 30’s and he is still ridiculous in big game situations.
Rich Harden Fever, Catch It !!!!!!!!!!
I don't expect you will find many people who will argue that with you

I would say that was more bad managing on Hurdle
Hit and Run was the the NL’s fault, not the result of Rivera

He struck out Ryan Ludwick.
While I agree Rivera is the best ever, this is not exactly a difficult feat.
"This is the kind of thing … that makes you want to see the Chicago Cubs team lose." Marty Brennaman
Why Ludwick.....
he was a AAA all star last year…or was it the year before….all the more why II carp and gripe when he gets “key” RBI’s against the Cubs….
The best defense is a good offense
God, I hope Demp can hold them.
I don’t like him coming in after pitching serious innings on Sunday.
IF IT TAKES FOREVER!!

Not worried about hold'enem....
More worried bout what pitching today after pitching 123 Sunday might do to the arm…....
Yes…I realize….he could now wait 5+ days to make next start….

Great performance by Demp....see my previous comment....
All the more incredible …. I think he threw 123 on Sunday…maybe I’m exaggerating….but I’m sure he threw over 100….

FOX
Not sure if it’s FOX or Joe Buck but they love to crucify the “goats”. Classless to pound it home if you ask me.
Glad they got out of it. Hope Marmol can avoid the wrath of FOX.

Bud Selig is proven to be an idiot. The fact that this group of leftovers is going to determine homefield advantage for your sports’ Championship is just unbelievable to me . . .
F****UCK....
You McCarver…that is NOT a base hit…...that is incompetence at 2nd base….

Position players
If this is supposed to mean something, they should just switch a pitcher with a position player like a real team would do in this circumstance. Why is that not even being discussed?
Are you guys still playng???

Tie?
Why is buck saying “we came close to another tie”? Eff that. If it means something, you put in the shortstop to pitch and play on.
Fine
McCarver is a delight compared to Joe Morgan. Just be thankful. McCarver has gotten old, but at least he seems like a nice guy rather than an arrogant idiot.
The problem is that somebody was telling these guys that this “real” game is actually only sorta real. I guess Selig learned nothing from Milwaukee. He needs to be ousted once and for all, and soon.
