boy hit by foul ball expected to go home!!!
I just looked at the local news paper site here in Iowa and saw they had the story about the boy who was hit by the foul ball is expected to go home!! I did not see the update on here yet, so I thought i would let everyone know as we were all thinking and praying for him.
May he have a fast recovery and a great end to a long season for him!

They should bring him back to throw out the first pitch for a playoff game @ Wrigley.

Someone start a poll between him and Bartman

If they ever get Bartman to thow out a first pitch...
someone should run onto the field and knock it away before the catcher can catch it.

Or just
dive out in front of the pitch and catch it instead!
Calm down.

Alou?
I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling, so why don't we just ignore each other til we go away.

He's not the only one..
hurt by a foul ball. If they give him some autographs or somthing, whatever, but he’s not going to throw out the first pitch

Are you saying...
...he shouldn’t throw out a first pitch or just that you don’t think the Cubs will go this route?
I obviously can’t predict what the organizaton will do, but this was literally a front-page story, and two Cubs players took the time to visit this boy, so I don’t think it’s out of the question that the Cubs might bring him back to throw out a first pitch. It would actually be a classy (and rather savvy) PR move.

I was at that game
And that young man has definitely been in my thoughts. I’m glad Lilly and Lee took the time out to visit him – shows a lot of class on their part.
Good news
Hope the young man will be A-OK with time. 31 years of attending games at Wrigley have made me appreciate the threat of being hit by a foul. Wrigley has to be one of the worst parks in this regard. When you’re sitting in the lower boxes you really have to have your wits about you. About 10 years ago I saw a guy take a wicked line shot to the face several seats from us. He had no time to react. Fortunately despite a lot of blood he was okay.
Rich Harden Fever, Catch It !!!!!!!!!!
Here's a link...
...to the Trib’s article on the story. Some nice pictures, too. I think having him throw out a first pitch is a great idea.

with Lilly as the catcher

Great ideas.
Glad to see he’s doing so well. I’m sure his parents will be happy to have him home.
Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.

Put A Screen Over the Dugouts
I would like to see a screen put above the dugouts in all pro baseball stadiums to protect the fans from foul balls and broken (maple) bats. I don’t sit anywhere near the dugouts at any stadiums any more.

I don't think you'll ever see that...
... the people spending the big bux to sit in those seats won’t want a screen in front of them.

I'm sure the Cubs will invite him and his family back for a game...
... and maybe have him throw out a first pitch. Glad he’s going home and that he’s doing so well. I’m sure Ted Lilly will be very happy to hear this, too. Seems as if he was shaken by this incident and genuinely concerned for Dominic’s well-being.

Cute Pics
especially the one of Dominic and his little sister. Looks like it was taken at ST.

That is great news, the kid is going home
and going to be pitching again, according to the articles I read. My wife is in Colorado spoiling the granddaughters (poor Daddy is so intimidated by me I stayed home….) On the morning she left, she went on line and made a nice contribution to Children’s Hospital. I hope other BCB’ers did the same. Trying to get an organized contribution made my non-BCB wife just laugh….so she just did it online on her way out the door. Repeating myself, I hope that others did also….
