Speaking Of Project 3000...

... as we were earlier today in the shirt post, I received this release today promoting a fundraiser for Project 3000, and it looks interesting:

Madison and Friends, Chicago's premier children's clothing boutique, will celebrate its 12th anniversary with members of the Chicago Cubs. Madison and Friends will host a meet-and-greet with the players, who will sign autographs to raise money for Project 3000, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for Lebers Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), an inherited form of blindness, and supporting those affected by the disease. Project 3000 was co-founded by Chicago Cubs star Derrek Lee, whose daughter was diagnosed with LCA.

Cubs players Derrek Lee, Mark DeRosa, Ryan Dempster, Bobby Howry and Ryan Theriot are scheduled to attend the event and sign autographs for fans who donate $80 to Project 3000. A limited number of VIP accommodations are available for fans who wish to avoid the long lines; call 312-642-6403 for more information.

All merchandise at Madison and Friends and The Denim Lounge, Chicago's hippest blue jean boutique, will be 20% off the day of the event.

More information is available at Madison and Friends' website.

The event is on Saturday, August 2 from 4:30 to 6 pm at their main location, 43 E. Oak St. in Chicago. See the website for more info.
