Could he be any more anti-Cub? When does his Cardinal’s stint start?

Definitely, good job Teddy
He is just always in danger of giving up dingers, because he relies on the high fastball/curveball combo. When he doesnt get it up enough he gets smoked

HEre is the hard fact:
The Cubs, in my lifetime, play like shit in Houston. Probably always will.
I dread every single game there.
It is a long season, but history shows that of all places, they suck mightily in Houston.

I get yelled at last time, but
Why let Lilly pitch to Lee?
Why pitch to Pence? First was open, sets up double play.
Good Outing
by Lilly. However, I didn’t like seeing Howry come back out, let alone letting him pinch to Pence. Why not IBB him? Oh well, we’ll get em tomorrow.
Go All In and Enjoy The Ride.

Has his most success there…
"Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball." - Jacque Barzun
Why would you want to do that?
He is totally lost right now at the plate…
If he doesn't pick it
up in any slot in the lineup soon, Lou will not be pleased.
I Say Try It For a Couple Games
and if he still struggles then drop him down to 8th until he gets back in the groove.
Eat More Katsui
Granted, this has been a whirlwind
for him so far, and a grueling pace – however, I would think Lou would eventually put him in the best place in which to succeed. He really is struggling at the plate. But he’s also a very professional player – it is huge for him to work out of the plate difficulties.
Worth mentioning...
He once went 45 straight at bats without a hit in Japan, then ended up winning the batting title…

What a surprise!
We’ll be shrunk down to a 3 game lead…
Oh well…they are either going to have to learn how to win on the road, or the rest of the season will be an incredible nail biter until the last game, imo.
If they had to have a
yuck game after their time off tonight was a good night to have it. Now that it’s out of the way they will play better.

Its amazing how much different this team is on the road, especially the offense
it seems we have so much confidence at home, but the exact opposite when we get out of town. Hope we can turn it around in the next 6 days
Every player should be accorded the privilege of at least one season with the Chicago Cubs. That's baseball as it should be played - in God's own sunshine. And that's really living."
Agreed..
Cubs play 15 of their final 21 on the road. Hope they have a big lead by then.

How the hell did Brain Moehler shut us down?
"This is why Major League Baseball does not need instant replay, because then every single play will then be reviewed." -- Joe Morgan, 5/18/08, referring to an umpire ruling a Carlos Delgado homerun foul when replays showed it hit the foul pole.
Hell if I know..
Being on here, I didn’t really pay close attention. I don’ t think our hitters were very patient though…Seems like we were hacking at everything..

I know evryone is gone but I'm gonna post anyway to answer CubsBall2202
Lilly was solid. Wonder Hamster flashed some leather and had a nice double. Edmonds popped one into the Crawford Boxes. All else was flat…bad flat. Way too many lazy fly balls. Fukudome is still circling the drain (try a bunt perhaps and at least create better angles on the infield**assuming he’ll hit the ball on the ground again someday). Lee still worries me though the numbers are strong. Howry has me petrified (fix the titanium, grind ball in glove, tug strings…WORK DOWN!). I know it’s one game but damn it…Houston…Moehler? I wathched the Cards and the Brewers tonight as well as the Cubs and they looked rested and energized. Our boys looked flat. Get’em tomorrow.
