I hope Sam Zell gets screwed...
And has to sell the team and ballpark together to the same buyer.
If the new owner of the Chicago Cubs has to lease the ballpark… well, that could severely curb our spending power.
I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

Darn it!
I’m just $999.99 million short of the billion dollars I need to put up a competetive bid. Can anybody lend me a few bucks?

I'm in for $2.

Only if you rename Wrigley Field
Back to Weegham Park. Enough of you middling, good-for-nothing baby boomers. You and your music.

At least spell it right.

Haha, dang it
Dyslexia has struck again. I even typed “Weegham” in and no results, even after looking up Wrigley history and seeing Weeghman. That H is a ninja

The FanPost Police say, If all you have is a link, this should be a FanShot!
Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when we come for you?

personally...
I very rarely look at fanshots and this did seem fanpost worthy. Makes sense to me for it to be here. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I agree with this.
It’s kind of a fine line, but I think a FanPost has some issue that can be discussed, and a FanShot is… well, a one-shot thing. JMO.

agreed but in keeping with the spirit of fanposts...
shouldn’t cubbieblue have added his own two cents on the issue at hand? or at least a pithy observation or two. That would tend to give it enough heft to stand on its own as a fanpost and avoid utilizing the repetitive droning needed to complete the 75 word minimum.

Yeah, when I see "words words words words words" or the ilk, I tend to think ... FanShot.

That's a good point, and...
... you’re right, people should do that. Thanks.

What's with the lone 42 on the marquee?
Jackie Robinson Day?
Or did someone ask Wrigley the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

Bad news is
my offer of $127.91 has been rejected. Hard to believe anyone went over that.
Borowy . . .Sutcliffe . . .Harden?
I offered $127.92...
... and that, too, was rejected. Drat.

I am using eSnipe for my bid.
Let’s just say it is significantly higher than Al’s. It does not go in till 5 seconds to midnight so I won’t
know till Monday if I topped Cuban etc. Good news is that Zell takes paypal.

Rooting for Cuban
Let these old fogies know what’s up. He’s the man for the job, plain and simple. And there’s no bias from this aspect.
Steinbrenner
has won six World Series and ten pennants. That’s pretty good.
I’m neither pro-Cuban nor anti-Cuban. But I often think he doesn’t get a fair shake around here. Of course, sometimes that’s his own fault.
