Anyone else really worried about the bullpen?

I hate for a complete overhaul... but I think we need to definetly get another reliever or two.

wood- blister/could linger, dont know how he is going to hold up down the line

marmol-which marmol returns for the 2nd half

howry- its middle of july and he still hasnt found his stuff

eyre-not reliable, I think Lou has no confidence in him

wuertz- iowa

marshall- not your power lefty you want out of the pen, positive is long relief

cotts- played well recently but has trouble with command

lieber- dL

gaudin- looks like a good addition

Hart/Ascanio- get rocked in the big leagues, still not ready for regular usage

Nope not worried

Woods- will be available today or tommorrow hail and healthy

Marmol-much nore often good than bad

Howry- stiill a strong solid piece of the puzzle,he’‘ll come through this half

Eyre- proven commodity will come off DL stronger than ever

Marshall- not super powerful but good long relief, gets it done

Wuertz- Iowa held in reserve getting steady work

Cotts- doing exactly whats expected of him, good but no great pitching ( hey thats why he’s inthe pen and not starting)

Leiber- DL short term problem ( I hope) hasn’t been used correctly but if he’s used right he’ll do fine

Gaudin- I agree good addition, happier with him than Gallahger

Hart/Ascanio-again I agree but thier young and should get better with more experience use them in non-critical situations and help themget better

If the world didn't suck we would all fall off.

I'm a little bit concerned

Will Marmol’s heavy workload catch up to him in October? ... I just remember Marmol throwin a gopher ball in the playoffs at Arizona right after Big Z got taken out.

Howry I believe will start throwing better but judging by last nights performance he is still not throwing well. Howry moresore than any other reliever depends on the velocity of his fastball. When he throws 90 – 92 he gets hit. When he throws 93-95 he strikes people out.

I wish we had a good lefty who can get lefties out. Scott Eyre is good when healthy but he isnt gettin any younger. Neal Cotts has been solid but he’s better against righties. I would love Brian Fuentes or in a perferct world George Sherrill but its probably not going to happen.

Agreed

I’m somewhat concerned, but at this point, especially after the Harden trade, I don’t see Hendry making a move toward Fuentes or Sherrill…I think we’ll have to make do with what we’ve got for the rest of the season.

I'd be more worried...

....if we were the Cardinals or Brewers. We’ll be fine.

Worried about the pen, especially Howry

I would love to share the optimism of the multitudes who say that Howry is a second half guy who will come around. I am sorry, but I am not buying it. He stuff is simply not what it was.

While the pen has been adequate, they have been inconsistent and there is no one who is a lights out stopper, not even Wood. These types of pitchers are hard to come by, but they are the key components of championship teams. The Cubs need to shore up their pen, and to do so quickly.

I wish Harden was pitching again today.

I love watching him pitch and want so badly for him to be the same type of addition that CC has been for the Brewers.

Calm down.

no hysteria here ..

Injuries, imperfections, instability is part of the game and a day at the job for MLB players. You just play through them. Don’t get in a tizzy over this. The Cubs rotation is better than you suspect ..

Well, Next Year is here .. and Jack's century's gotta end some time .. GO CUBBIES!
